In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Single event, multiple shiftsHi Steve,
You’re exactly right on the approach you suggested. If you have multiple shifts where you’re in need of a different number of volunteers, you would create a new opportunity for each shift. They would then be listed one after another on the page where you placed the shortcode. It’s a little tedious, but it should be what you need.
At this point we don’t have plans to add that functionality, if only to keep the plugin simple and easy to use. That said, this feature been requested multiple times, so we’re keeping it on our radar.
Good luck and let me know how it goes.

In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] Users with Admin and Board roles show up twiceThanks for reaching out Ed. The plugin is definitely not set up to have users with multiple roles. That said, the tool does support WordPress administrators who also serve as board members for the organization. To do this set up each person who serves both roles as an “Administrator”. Then when each person logs in to WordPress have them visit the board management pages within the admin. They’ll see a message at the top with a button that allows them to join the board. Hopefully, you shouldn’t need to use the User Role Editor plugin at all.
I hope that helps. Let me know how it goes.

In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] show Board Members phone number, emailThanks for reaching out @rvanlierop. Just to confirm, are you looking to see the email addresses on the frontend of your website, or within the WordPress admin?
Have a good one.

Wired ImpactIn order to adjust any of the fields you’ll need to overwrite the opp-single-form.php file from the plugin by placing it in your theme’s folder. Once it’s in there you can adjust the text where it says “Last Name:” and make it “Instrument:”. Unfortunately, if you’re able to do that the information is still going to store in the WordPress admin the same way, so everyone’s last name is going to be the instrument they put in.
As far as the form, there isn’t a way to clear out the fields when someone signs up unless you’re comfortable writing some programming code. Our company could also help out with that, but there would be a cost associated with the customization. Let me know if you’d like to take that approach.
I’m sorry we can’t be more helpful. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks for reaching out Leo. There isn’t a way I know of to change the phone number field to an instrument field. It should be possible to add a new field completely, but that would require a significant amount of custom programming knowledge. Is that something you feel comfortable with?

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Opportunities list shows on sign up pageThanks for reaching out @deweyw. The opportunities don’t show by default at the bottom of each sign up form, so this is likely due to the way the theme is set up. It’s possible you might be able to remove these through the Widgets section within the WordPress admin, or turn this off in other theme settings. If you aren’t able to see where they are coming from it would be great if you could provide us a link to one of the sign up pages. That may help us diagnose this a little better.
Have a good one.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Only Single Opportunity ShowingNo problem. I’m glad it worked out.
Since the plugin is so new it would be great if you could leave us an honest review at https://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/wired-impact-volunteer-management. If not, no big deal at all.
Enjoy the rest of your week!

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Only Single Opportunity ShowingThanks for reaching out @iroller and I’m sorry you’re running into issues. You should definitely be able to see both of them on the page.
There are two potential reasons that this might happen. First, make sure the opportunity that’s not showing has a fixed date and time. Otherwise, it will only show if you use the [flexible_volunteer_opps] shortcode. Second, make sure the opportunity didn’t occur in the past. The list won’t show any old opportunities.
Let me know how that works for you. Good luck.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Not ShowingThanks for reaching out @jonathan707 and I’m sorry the volunteer opportunity isn’t showing. It looks like the link you provided is actually to the WordPress admin, which I can’t access without logging in. Can you send us a link to the frontend of the website?
Also, can you paste here exactly what text you have written in the content area within WordPress?
Once we have that information we should be able to provide you better support.

Wired ImpactNo problem at all. Let me know if any other questions come up.

This is a tough one @en18zone. The easiest way to allow others to register volunteer opportunities is create accounts for each of them on your website, then give them enough permissions to be able to create volunteer opportunities.
If you can’t or don’t want to give each one a WordPress account for the site, the next best option is to create a form on your site which automatically creates a volunteer opportunity when submitted. This is not easy by any means, but is possible. I’d suggest a combination of Gravity Forms along with the Gravity Forms + Custom Post Types plugin. These plugins will allow you to set up the form and map it directly. Unfortunately, this will require you to understand the code for the volunteer management plugin since you’ll need to pull the name of the custom post type and the custom fields.
I’m sorry I don’t have a simpler option for you, but hopefully this is still helpful. Please let me know what other questions you have.
