Hi @berniesamui,
Wordfence does not actively block VPN, largely as they are almost indistinguishable from regular internet traffic. Many privacy conscious people use these to protect their online presence, so blocking them isn’t something we generally consider good practice.
I would attempt to visit your site again using a VPN and watch your Live Traffic to see why the timestamp matching your device is being blocked. A blocked reason will be supplied when inspecting the entry with the eye icon. This can then help you adjust your rules or blocks accordingly if the site is being too strict.
It might also be worth checking whether your site is detecting IPs correctly at Wordfence > Dashboard > Global Options > General Wordfence Options > How does Wordfence get IPs and ensure you’ve selected the option that displays your current IP address as seen on https://whatsmyip.com/. Detecting the IP incorrectly would result in a block for one user potentially blocking everybody visiting the site until the block is lifted. If you need to change this, make sure to click the SAVE CHANGES button once you’re done.
There are some further explanations of IP detection and which option to select if your site is using Cloudflare here: https://www.wordfence.com/help/dashboard/options/
You can use Snipboard https://snipboard.io/ to send us a screenshot.
Thanks,
Mark.

Please go ahead and sent a diagnostic report to wftest@wordfence.com. Do not forget to add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

Hi @forcesail,
Thank you for the update. We have also seen situations in which a fresh reinstall of the plugin or deactivating and reactivating Wordfence as you mentioned solves the issue. Thanks,
Mark.
@ajrossnz, thanks for getting back to us and apologies for the late response.
You are probably getting the error message “An unexpected error occurred while attempting to configure Wordfence to delete its data on deactivation” because of a network error between your site and WordPress.org (where the plugin is downloaded from) and the plugin may not have completely downloaded.
In that case it would have been better to use FTP or whatever file browser is provided in your hosting control panel to delete the wordfence folder in the /wp-content/plugins directory. Then you could check the error logs to see if it gave any clues as to what happened. And you could always manually download a copy from the WordPress.org repository then upload and manually install it on the Plugins > Add New page of your website.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks,
Mark.

In reply to: [Wordfence Security - Firewall, Malware Scan, and Login Security] fido 2Hi @massimiliano0872, thank you for reaching out.
Wordfence does not support passkeys at the moment.
Passkeys and biometrics are something we have talked about internally but are still in the discussion phase. While we cannot promise that every suggestion we get makes it into a release, or when that might be, I can tell you that every suggestion we get is evaluated carefully and considered seriously.
Thanks,
Mark.

Hi @prexilated,
Thank you for reaching out.
We have seen possible issues installing keys automatically more than 24 hours after generation. Additionally, if you are in a different browser than the one used when requesting your Free Wordfence license, you will be unable to automatically install it. In those cases, you will need to manually copy and paste the key from the email to complete the activation of Wordfence Security.
Aside from verifying that you did not copy only part of the license key, I would check whether you can install the license when Wordfence is the only active plugin on your site. There could be a Javascript conflict with another plugin potentially stopping the code executing the verification check.
In some cases, disabling caching plugins resolves the issue.
Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Janet

Hi@lorenzone92, Thank you for reaching out and sharing all the troubleshooting steps you have taken so far.
The cURL error 28 is a common error and usually temporary. If the error is persistent, please reach out to your hosting provider so that they can take a look at the issue with the cURL library on your hosting server.
Please do the following so I can get the information I need to help you:
- Go to the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page
- In the “Debugging Options” section check the circle “Enable debugging mode”
- Click to “Save Changes”.
- CANCEL any current scan and start a NEW scan
- Copy the last 20 lines from the Log (click the “Show Log” link) or so of the activity log once the scan finishes and paste them in this post.
Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostic > Debugging Screenshot
This will help me see exactly what is happening when the scan fails.
Additionally, please send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence.com. You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.
NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email
Thanks,
Mark.
Hi@kklo, Thank you for reaching out.
Unfortunately, we don’t have an option to send confirmation or activation emails once users register.
We do have 2FA and reCAPTCHA features that can be used on the default WordPress and WooCommerce login and egistration pages. Our setup guide is below:

Hi @quintor, thank you for reaching out.
You should be able to unsubscribe from email lists at the bottom of the email you received from Wordfence to stop receiving the emails.
If you would like to stop receiving email alerts from your site, you will need to change the email address under Wordfence > All Options > General Wordfence Options > Where to email alerts and hit SAVE CHANGES afterwards.
Thanks,
Mark
