By default, EUM won’t update anything automatically. Did you turn on automatic updates?
Dashboard => Update Options => General tab => Automatic Updates => On (set to on instead of default)

wp_update_plugins, wp_update_themes and wp_version_check are all WP default cron jobs which are scheduled to run twice daily and EUM hook into this to perform automatic updating.

Hi @bslader,

Are you using a premium theme? If so, most likely theme author has different update mechanism than default one.

If not, have you tried to update it manually? Dashboard => Updates?

Let me know which theme are you using, I’ll try to replicate the issue at my end.

If no update is available after deactivating plugin, then it should be something to do with your hosting or other plugin / theme disabling updates.

I just tested this locally on multisite environment and couldn’t reproduce the issue. Could you please share any browser console errors or php error log? Thanks

No, unless you disabled updates itself. In that case WP and Easy Updates Manager stops checking for updates, so no nag will be there.

If you enable auto update, it updates every 12 hours and nags won’t be there most of the time. Of course, if the user busy with their site and adding content daily, multiple times daily, then they will see the nag.

As @ronalfy said, EUM does not send email directly. But I don’t find We have updated one or more plugins on your WordPress site at text in core and I believe you’ll get The WordPress Team at the bottom of the email.

Could you please share the whole email? So that we can be sure where to make changes? Thanks!

I’m referring to Core Notification E-mails setting in our plugin. May be you had some other plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-updates-notifier/ to get email notification about available updates?
