In reply to: What features do you look for in a image/media galleryWow… if you can get a nice and slim frontend that handles media files and Flash files then you da man! 🙂 When can we get our teeth into this?

In reply to: What features do you look for in a image/media galleryOne thing I always lament is the lack of support for media files (like movies and Flash content) rather than just pictures. Coppermine and Gallery2 are too bloated without sufficient integration to justify themselves… (I want them to use WP’s current theme and they can’t… don’t let anyone tell you differently). But other galleries are too simple… just images from a folder (I like integration with Flickr, which I’ve done with FAlbum and you can see on my site http://www.negative99.com/gallery/ )
My wants:
– Flickr integration
– use of current WP theme
– support for media files (movies and Flash files)Forum: Plugins
In reply to: WPGallery2I put mine in the webserver area. It seems to work for the most part.
But I have a general question… I’m having some trouble getting this puppy to really truly integrate. It keeps trying to go here for pictures: http://www.mysite.com/wordpress/v/mypicture.jpg.html …but I’ll get a 404 error… the page is REALLY at http://www.mysite.com/gallery2/v/mypicture.jpg.html. WHat’s the deal?
And I’m fighting the style, too. I wish either Coppermine or Gallery 2 had a reliable integration. 🙁

In reply to: I REALLY screwed up now…Not permanently, silly. You are in troubleshooting mode… Get over it. 🙂 If 777 makes it work then go to 775 or 755 and you’re done.

In reply to: The Sidebar Doesn’t Work in IE — NO!!!!Allison :: Umm… unless it’s just me your site is being commented pretty well… I didn’t any at 0… so why get rid of them?
All you need to do is comment out (get it?) the php code that links to your comments functionality. If you’re really confused email me and I’ll give more enhanced instruction.

In reply to: blix theme-contactUmmm… you didn’t mention anything that you have tried yet, and that usually helps.
So, I’ll just ask the basics. Did you create a new page and choose “contact.php” for the template? Did you get the carefully prepared instructions in the readme.html that you see in your Blix theme folder? Let me quote them below:
-Select Write > Write Page
-Fill in Page Title
-Fill in Page Content. This will be displayed above the contact form.
-Select ‘contact’ as Page Template
-Select ‘contact’ as Page slug
-Click Create New PageThese are clearer in the readme.html file so you should check that out.
BTW, my theme is based off Blix if you can believe that one (it’s more of a distant cousin now rather than a direct descendent).

In reply to: When using IE…carnold :: Yuck! IE and your site don’t get along at ALL!
What you have heard is true… IE doesn’t think there’s enough room for your content width so it pushes it below everything else. But it look slike there are other issues too.

In reply to: The best 3 wordpress site designs that you likewhooami :: Thanks. It is set to extend along the entire width of the footer so it’s ok. 🙂 I found that the width of the ad was too wide to be acceptable to stick it entirely in my center column in 800×600 browsers.
