In reply to: Error with a database connectionYeah, that’s what was up with me. I get 2000 or so hits a day and keep getting connection errors because my MySQL can only handle 15 connections at once. Sheesh… that’ll teach me to not do my research before installing a blogging tool that uses MySQL!! I just wish I could figure out how to tweak the standard WordPress error page.

In reply to: [1.2.2] Suddenly Can’t Upload filesWelp, I upgraded to 1.5 and still no go on uploading… I checked permissions and the upload directory is set to 777. Might it be a .htaccess deal? I’d expect not because there’s no .htaccess file in that directory. Puzzling…

In reply to: Possible Trackback Spam fix suggestion?Then, if the process of changing the trackback link was automated inside of WP, couldn’t it just be changed again? I’m just getting tired of having to delete the trackbacks from my moderation queue. Would be nice if we could at least have a way to comments/trackbacks with certain words in them or comments/trackbacks from certain IPs or authors instead of having them dump into moderation.
Again, just some thoughts.

I’ve never seen this before, however, it does sound like the table has
been corrupted. You might try the following SQL command:
REPAIR TABLE your_table
where your_table is the tablename for stattraq’s table.Thanks for using StatTraq!
I followed his directions and everything was fine after that.

In reply to: blogging from flickr to WordPressActually, I solved the problem, sort of. I use the Blogger API setting at Flickr instead of the metaweblog API. I am having trouble getting the title to show up, but hopefully I’ll get this worked out. Regardless, I can moblog directly to my WP blog, so I am very happy.

In reply to: how to set default to “publish”OK, well, I sussed the problem. I’d personally like to thank podz for not warning us that when you save your changed options on the super secret options page (at least in WP 1.2.2), it deactivates all of your plugins except the one in the very top field.
Thanks for the heart attack, guy! There’s nothing to test the old ticker like watching your site throw one php error after after another at you, thus stopping the proper loading of your site.
I’m not mad, just annoyed… all is fine now, though. Just podz, please mention what happened to me the next time you tell someone about the super secret options page, please? Thanks.
Sorry, it didn’t rain, it poured on me today and this was not what I needed at the end of it…

In reply to: how to set default to “publish”Um, OK, I changed three things on the super secret options page and now my site won’t load. I switched those three things back and my site still won’t load. Any chance I could get a hand with this?
FYI: I changed default_category to nothing and then back to 1
I changed default_post_category to nothing and then back to 1
I changed time_difference to -2 because I am in Pacific while my server is in Central. However, I also switched this back to it’s original value: “0”So, any takers on this one? Basically my site is down and I don’t know why. If I don’t here anything in an hour or so, I’ll post this in its own thread. I hope no one minds. Thanks.

Why are my posts being held for moderation??? This makes no sense…
In Admin>Options>Discusion, I have “An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below)” unchecked and “User must fill out name and email” checked. Then under comment moderation I have a short list of words that I don’t want to see on my site like “phentermine” and the screen name and email addresses of a guy who keeps harrassing me through my site. None of these things are in common with my screen name or email.
Thanks for your help. I’ll try posting without anything in the moderation queue and see what happens. (Is that really how you spell “queue?”)
