Comment doesn’t show up–does in admin

    Hi, I’ve posted comments to my own site a bunch of times. But today I go to post a comment and it won’t post to the entry. I can see the comment in the “Comments” section on my admin’s edit page, but the text is gray instead of black. What does this mean? Please let me know–I’m freaking out here… thanks!!

    Maybe it means that the comment is awaiting moderation? Go to Edit > Awaiting Moderation and see if the comments are sitting there waiting for approval.

    You’re right–duh–I can’t believe I didn’t check there.

    Why are my posts being held for moderation??? This makes no sense…

    In Admin>Options>Discusion, I have “An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below)” unchecked and “User must fill out name and email” checked. Then under comment moderation I have a short list of words that I don’t want to see on my site like “phentermine” and the screen name and email addresses of a guy who keeps harrassing me through my site. None of these things are in common with my screen name or email.

    Thanks for your help. I’ll try posting without anything in the moderation queue and see what happens. (Is that really how you spell “queue?”)

    Yep, that was it–damn. I’ll have to come up with a better list.
