I think you misunderstood my question, and I was clearly referring to a “Share Count” column in the Posts page on WP Admin. Like you log into WP, go to Posts and create new content…

Other social programs have this, where there is a column in the WP Admin Posts area, which displays “Share Count” as a column so when adding a new Post you can get a quick view of how your previous posts did.

Where can I download the old version that actually works and doesn’t melt down your site?

I am afraid you will have to use SVN client to download it from WordPress respository. I could do it for you but someone will surely expect a backdoor there

    Ooooh, that one hurt.

But thanks for the SVN tip, and I seem to have downloaded them all from 0.03 to 4.3.

Thanks, and do you have a ZIP copy of 4.3 available so that I can give it a run-through? All I have is 4.22 ZIP and an option to download and update to 4.3.

As for the plugin issue, can’t you just recode a bit and introduce a “new” version? I know that means you lose the original page, but this has been done (to great success) with other plugins.

It’s nothing personal, as there have been other plugin sales where the original WP account has been part of the transaction. In this case it looks safe so I have installed the other version.

One question, I noticed an update to 4.3 appeared right before the plugin was removed, and the Wordfence security notice included this note:

“Even though one of them, WP No External Links, has been updated to remove the backdoor, it has been closed, so it will never be updated again in the future.”

Does that mean 4.3 is safe?

So how are we supposed to know if this version 3.5/5.0 is actually safe and not backdoored?

I can’t get it working either.

First I got a “less secure app” error, and accompanying email alerts to my account, and then after disabling that in my Google settings, I got the same “SMTP ERROR: Password command failed” issue as the OP, with no seeming way to get it working.

I have configured this plugin with virtually every mail server I have access to, with no problems, but no way Gmail was accepting anything. It’s likely a problem with my password (I have special characters for security) but it’s way way too much time to troubleshoot.

It is at the bottom of the content, and by doing so this would push the Related Post List further below the “Next Page” numbers?

The developers at Apex have already fixed this CSS issue and everything is running fine.

Thanks for the help, and after more testing it seems that the CSS fix cleared up all the issues with Apex and Social Warfare, but it appears there is now another plugin that is causing issue with SW (it was a brand new update, which is why I didn’t catch it and replied in haste).

Thanks again and I am closing this post a Resolved.

The CSS fix did work on the Apex UI and I am now able to access all the settings. The Page/Post loading issue still exists and as per your message, here are the specifics:

The Page/Posts loading issue only happens when these 3 conditions are present:

    a) The Apex plugin is active on the Page/Post – I am using the “multiple content (text/html)” set to Bottom, just in case that matters.

    and

    b) Social Warfare plugin has “Floating Share Buttons” enabled under “Styling”

    and

    c) The Social Warfare Plugin’s “Page” and “Post” – “Floating Buttons (if activated)” areas are set to “ON” under “Display”

Both (b) and (c) are required to enable the SW Floating Sidebar at the Page/Post level, which cause the lock.

Otherwise, without the “Floating Share Buttons” feature enabled, the two plugins function perfectly together, but once it’s Enabled and set to “On” on the Pages/Posts, these pages/posts will no longer load – the effect is immediate. The homepage and other areas that are not enabled with the SW sidebar (but have Apex) still work perfectly, Also, the *second* I disable either the SW Floating Sidebar or Apex, the pages/posts immediately load.

It’s like the SW Floating Sidebar and the Apex Notification Bar are fighting it out to a stalemate.

Actually, I looked at the Tabs a bit closer and they appear to be Centered (text alignment in the code is default) and after adjusting the various CSS values, it seems to be an issue with:

    text-indent

If I change that value a bit in .wp-tabbed-nav, everything centers out perfectly, but when I examine the code, I cannot find out where this is coming from.

I figured out what was going on, and I am currently using a GIF, along with checking a few of the Paypal Donation Advanced options, and it’s back to normal.

I have a feeling that something about the Theme was interfering, even with it unloaded, but this has fixed it up both for the default and custom buttons.

    Thanks.

It can’t be the theme, as I’ve done some more research and the default Paypal buttons display *exactly* the same way in the admin “Settings – Paypal Donation” page, with or without the theme enabled. The front-end theme should have no effect on the WordPress admin dashboard area, but I am being thorough.

I just *thought* the default Paypal buttons were the same size as displayed, but when you look at the actual files on the server, they too are smaller than expected. The smallest Paypal image (downloaded from the server) is actually 74px wide (near unreadable on a 1080p laptop) when you download it, but it displays as 93pix on the WP admin Settings screen. It’s so small to be unusable on a very high-resolution screen.

It’s the same for all the default Paypal buttons, and I’m thinking this is a feature of the program, as it obviously stores smaller images than the display size (both in the Admin settings screen and on a webpage), maybe to save bandwidth and speed up page loading?

Can you look at it on your end and see if the actual default button files (either on the server or “right-click save-as”) are smaller than the button displayed in the Settings – Paypal Donation screen?

Nevermind, I was searching for “WP No External Links” and it’s instead under “External Links”, probably to fit in the sidebar.
