After installing the plugin, I was just wondering what the performance impact was between these two options:
1) There are also options to encode the link, for example with Base64, so you could have the link look like this:
http://www.example.com/goto/aHR0cDovL3d3dy5iZXN0YnV5LmNvbS9wcm9kdWN0X0lEPTc4OTAsYWZmPTEyMzQsY2FtcGFpZ249MTIzNDU22)If you want a shorter URL than the one above, you could use the Numeric encoding option, which could look like:

Thanks for the link, but I think I’ll have to stick with the “To add links to table cells, you’ll in general need to manually enter the HTML code for a link (something like My Link) into a cell” option, as I need to have control over the “anchor text” for both readability and keeping the column thin.
I am assuming there is no way to control the Anchor Text through the URL Conversion extension, and that a link like:
“www.example.com/text_articles/webinars/2017/may/lifestyle/gardens/234850_best_way_to_pick_weeds.html”
would be translated into this:

For the 3rd option, “http://www.example.com/goto/7530”, I don’t think the number growth will be an issue, but is there any method of resetting this (and, I assume, the log file) if it does get unwieldy?
Also, although the “goto” segment would certainly work, is this a custom field in the Control Panel you can change to something like “go” or “site”?

Thanks for the confirmation and I really hope this feature is added soon.
I have always thought that was how affiliate link cloakers worked, using the base URLs, as a lot of blog/website affiliate ads from widgets, data imports and drop-down menus all have an element of variability to them.
