In reply to: [WPSiteSync for Content] Images renamedHi panfren,
Thanks for writing to us on this.
WPSiteSync itself does not make any changes to file names. We do update directory names if the Target site is installed in a subdirectory, but that’s just to keep the path naming consistent with other images in the Media Library.
You mention that the names are “messed up”. Can you give an example, before and after of the name changes?
What could be happening is you have a plugin on the Target site that is modifying the image name. Something like the Clean Image Filenames plugin will do this. What plugins do you have running on the Target site?
We would be happy to work with you on resolving the issue. To start, we would need to get some log files from you. You can find instructions here on how to set that up: https://wpsitesync.com/knowledgebase/enabling-debugginglogging-wpsitesync/
Once you have the log files, please submit those to our Support page at https://ServerPress.com/contact/ so we can review them.

In reply to: [WPSiteSync for Content] Plugin not working on multisitesHello, crpsnrw.
Thank you for your interest in WPSiteSync. We’re sorry to hear that you’re having difficulties. WPSiteSync for Content does work on MultiSite installs of WordPress. We are happy to assist you in getting this configured and working for your site. There are a few things that may be causing your issue:
First, check that the plugin is either Network Activated, or that it is activated for the site that you are working on. If you can see the settings page for WPSiteSync, then the plugin is active for that site.
Next, you mentioned that the UI is not showing when working on an “article” page. Is “article” a Custom Post Type? The main WPSiteSync plugin works with core WordPress content, that is “posts” and “pages”. To use this with additional post types, you would need to use our WPSiteSync for Custom Post Types add-on, which you can find here: https://wpsitesync.com/downloads/wpsitesync-for-custom-post-types/ If “article” is a Custom Post Type then the UI will not show because it doesn’t recognize the post type.
Another thing to check is that the settings have a Target site, Username and Password configured. If these are not set, and the username/password are not authenticated with the Target site, then the UI will not be displayed. Each site on the network can be configured for it’s own Target site, so this needs to be done for each site you want to use WPSiteSync with.
Last, on the Settings page you can configure which User Roles are allowed to see the UI and Push Content. If this is set to “Administrators” only, and you’re currently logged in as an “Editor” then the UI will not be shown. Make sure the configuration is set to allow the User Role you’re logged in as. If you are logged in as a “Network Administrator”, this is the same as “Administrator” as far as the User Roles are concerned.
After all of this if you’re still having trouble, feel free to contact us at https://ServerPress.com/contact/ and we can assist you in more detail. We may need to ask for log files, etc. in order to diagnose the issue.

In reply to: [WPSiteSync for Content] Using Relationship field in ACFHello Patrick,
Are you using our WPSiteSync for Advanced Custom Fields add-on? This tool helps in modifying the metadata for Relationships, Images, Taxonomies and other information — adjusting the values so that they are correct for the Target site. Without the add-on, the metadata is moved to the Target site but references to IDs for images, posts (Relationships), etc. are not adjusted for the Target site’s IDs.
The current version does not work with ACF Pro yet, but if you’re using ACF and would like to try this out, please contact us at https://ServerPress.com/contact/ and we can send you a copy to work with and see if this addresses your issue.

In reply to: [WPSiteSync for Content] Fails to Push ContentHello, Joe.
We’ve recently had a few customers report that Mod_Security is blocking the API requests to their Target site.
Our research indicates that you will need to contact your hosting service and ask them to update the rules for Mod_Security, adding your Source site’s IP address to a whitelist that will be allowed to access the site. For more information, we wrote a blog post about it, which you can find here: https://wpsitesync.com/wpsitesync-for-content-and-mod_security/
All the best,

In reply to: [WPSiteSync for Content] Support for Galleries & Resized ImagesHello skwtayler,
Our last release or two included some new features that will allow for parsing and updating shortcodes. This will enable us to update gallery shortcodes. This feature will be coming soon.
For resized images, we do currently support that. If you have a reference to my-image-300×300.jpg, our parser removes the image size at the end and look for the my-image.jpg image attachment, pushing this to the Target site. Once on the Target site, the registered image sizes are created, so the -300×300 image will be created. If you’re not getting one of the resized images it could be caused by a non-standard image size that is registered on the Source site but not on the Target site. We intend to address this in a future release but unfortunately do not have a date for this yet.
If this is not working correctly for you, we would ask that you provide us with some examples of the image references and we can take a closer look.

In reply to: [WPSiteSync for Content] Latest update Version 1.5 has obvious bugsHi Anieves,
Thanks for reporting this. We got your support request via our web site as well. We’re working on a fix for this and will be releasing an update soon.
In the mean time, you can work around this by:
– Go to Settings -> WPSiteSync and setting the “Optionally remove Settings and Tables on plugin uninstall” to “no”
– Save settings
– Deactivate the plugin
– Reactivate the pluginThis process will make the necessary database changes and you will no longer see the errors.

In reply to: [WPSiteSync for Content] WPSiteSyncContent is undefinedHi Gonza.ar
Thanks for writing to us about this.
You said that you’re seeing this in the developer console – do you mean the Javascript console within the browser?
Does this error message give you a line number on the right side of the page? It would be very helpful to get that line number. Would you please reply with the line number or a link to a screen capture of the message that you’re seeing?
If it’s easier you can reply via our support page at https://serverpress.com/contact/
Thanks!
