    I tried setting a totally different CSS class to another page. Still doesn’t work, no matter what I try (colour, size, text-decoration…), I don’t believe it is that there is “no connection” between the menu and the CSS, but more like whatever I type is being overwritten by another CSS setting. See what I mean?

    Well, I tried getting rid of them, but no difference!

    Have you copy and pasted codes? If so than in front of every code value press [TAB]. eg:

    .abcdef {
    [TAB]color: blue;
    [TAB]float: right;
    [TAB]left: auto;
    {TAB]right: 0;
    }

    try this and tell me its effect.

    Yes I did, and yes I pressed TAB to leave some space at the front, I don’t think it should do a difference, however? At least I don’t see any.

    @ alchymyth: We actually discussed this already, but what I’m looking for is more complex than that 😉 So thanks. I think manishkumarruhil is on the right path, however 🙂

    I tried everything from the start again, step by step, and I used colour: red; on .abcde to test the “connection”, but it still won’t work. I’m wondering what I’m doing wrong…

    Yes they are copied in the child style.css, which (.) do you mean, the one that defines classes just like (#) defines ID’s? In case that’s what you mean, no I haven’t forgotten it!

    I’ll take another look now, my brain is “fresher” than yesterday night so let’s see what I can find 😉

    Resolved by the way!

    Oops, I seem to have missed this.

    So I’ve done this now, but for some reason the margin and also the colour won’t work. As if they had no “connection”, yet I made sure I type “abcde” correctly, and in the right box. The code is just a copy & paste from you.

    The sub menus are really cool by the way, didn’t even know of this function. You learn something new every day…

    Just tried it and it seems like it isn’t the same, I tried adding a colour like you said, but it didn’t change. Weird, I have no such CSS classes field then it seems? Or might it be hidden somewhere? I pressed the arrow already, but all I have is the title and the HTML Attribute box.

    Alright, again before I start, first question… 🙂

    I don’t have (css classes (optional)), the last input box for me is HTML-Attribut title (optional). Is that the right box?

    Just making sure to do everything correct and step by step now!

    Cool, it works! I added a little margin to the first CSS part code and decreased the width to have a little space between the images. Works in Firefox too now — much appreciated 🙂

    What do you use content: “.”; for, by the way?

    Thread Starter Foliferous

    (@revs)

    Yep that’s what I thought.

    So I’ve just followed the steps and wow! I didn’t know it works this way as well. Very nice! I had looked for tricks how to modify the “home” button before and I had actually found tricks, all of this wasn’t necessary I guess since I could have just simply done this. Definitely much more effective.

    Now what can I do so they are always at the edge of the site and how can I have variable spaces / gaps? 🙂

    (@revs)

    Thanks! Just a question, before I even do the first step. Do I remove px & rem from my child theme or from twenty twelve? From the child theme I guess?

    Thread Starter Foliferous

    (@revs)

    Sure, I’m not against it 🙂

    Do you know what I could try? I always failed at putting images side by side. Same with DIV’s and anything else. Grrr!

    Thread Starter Foliferous

    (@revs)

    Well, that’s what people suggested me. Too bad because it looked perfect in Safari.

    Can I not make the table for “stable” somehow, so it appears the same everywhere?
    Or how else would I make 4 images appear besides each other? It’s not that easy, especially not in WordPress…

    I’m not sure if it is what I mean, I’ll have to test it first 😉

    What I mean is that: now that I can choose the space between the menu links it’s fine, however I would have to mess a lot to get the link that is the most at the “right” to fit with the right of the page. (Basically to be exactly at the edge of it, just like the link that is the most at the “left” is at the edge as well).

    So I thought a variable thing would not be bad, you know. Say I add to more links, then the spaces between the links become smaller but the link at the right is still at the edge. Now let’s say I would remove ten links, then the spaces / the gap between the links would become much bigger, while keeping the link at the very right still at the edge. Do you see what I mean? 🙂
