    Hello,

    yes, I just realised that it was theme dependent. Sorry!

    Hello,

    I just wanted to say that the problem was found and solved. The X-EDSO line is something for anti-spam. But normally, it should shows up in the header only, and not in the mail itself.

    The reason why it appeared in the emails itself was because apparently, the header “Subject:” is generated twice by the form. Which then again called the X-EDSO line.

    The host has done all the work for me, so there’s nothing else to do now. I was just told that I could ask the developer (you), why you’re calling the header “Subject:” twice.

    Maybe it has a function, maybe it’s a bug. Either way, now you know it, that’s why I wanted to write this message. 🙂

    Thanks!

    I did that before already. 🙂 (first post)

    So which code shall I send then?

    Hello,

    I have asked my Host like you said. This message appears to be from them, but it usually only appears in the header. It is a code for anti-spam or something.

    It should not be in the body of the mail, and they’re trying to figure out why it is displayed there.

    They couldn’t find a solution so far, and are wondering if there isn’t anything in the code of the form that may trigger it.

    I’d like to send them the PHP code of the form, so that they can investigate more and find out what it is that makes this message appear.

    Could you tell me what is the most relevant piece of PHP code from the form? Which code should I send them? There’s so many files. 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hmm yes, I see… I guess if it’s not too often it’s okay 😛

    Thanks again! Happy coding to you too 😉

    EDIT

    I have tried to use a custom form for my custom profile page. It looks like this:

    <p>You can change your Email address if you wish to receive our newsletter somewhere else. Your old Email address will be removed from our mailing list.</p>
    <p>{profile_form}</p>
    <p>To unsubscribe, <a href="{unsubscription_confirm_url}">click here</a>.</p>

    On my custom profile page (a WordPress page) I have added this code:

    [newsletter_form form="2"]

    … but obviously, the codes like {unsubscription_confirm_url} or {profile_form} do not work. How do I make these work in a custom form, or how do I edit the form code for the [newsletter_profile] shortcode?

    Thanks !!

    Here is the page. I have made it visible.

    Theme:
    I am using a custom, self-made theme, which is a child-theme of the twenty twelve WordPress theme. It is just slightly modified.

    Plugins:
    Here is the list of plugins I am using:

    • All In One SEO Pack
    • Apple Poll (Custom made Plugin)
    • Contact Form 7
    • Enhanced Text Widget
    • Maintenance
    • Newsletter
    • Quick Page/Post Redirect Plugin
    • WP Super Cache (deactivated)
    • WP Super Cache – Clear All Cache (deactivated)
    • WP-Polls

    I have tried to deactivate all plugins before, and I’ve also tried to switch to a default theme before (twenty twelve).

    Maybe it’s a server issue? If you tell me where to look at, I could contact my host and maybe get some answers or hints from them. :–)

    Thanks.

    Oops, I don’t know why I haven’t seen that. I was looking in the subscription settings all the time. There was no pre-composed message however, so I set one.

    Is there a possibility to link to a custom page for the unsubscribe message? I have done the same for the subscribe page, when you subscribe, it links you to a custom page basically, where it says something like “Thank you, you’ve been successfully subscribed, blabla…”

    The reason is that I can redirect this (custom) page to the home page again after 5 seconds or so.

    Thanks for the help so far Stefano.

    Ha, it worked! 🙂

    The way you posted it, it only changed the margin for the button in the sidebar. But then I added !important like you said, and it was suddenly applied to the vote button in the site content too. I never used the !important tag, I looked up what it means and understand it now. I had seen it often but never used, neither I was really sure if I knew what it meant. Now it’s all clear 🙂 I guess it had to override something.

    Thanks so much for taking the time to help :–)

    Have a nice day!

    Hi!

    Yes, I’m actually using a child theme, the way it is described in the WP faqs. 🙂
    But I could not find the element that makes the difference.

    My thought is that there’s CSS settings for the site content that will apply to this, and these CSS settings aren’t present in the widgets, because there’s different settings for them. I think it has something to do with paddings or margins.

    Here’s the site.

    On the site content, you can see that there’s two lines between “I have yet to decide” and the “Vote” button. In the sidebar at the right however, there’s only one line.

    For the second poll (with the results displayed), you can see that the space between “Total Voters” and the last answer of the poll is also just one line. That’s the way it should be.

    Maybe it has to do with paddings applied to input buttons in the site content?

    Thanks. 🙂

    Resolved…

    I had to add this here apparently:

    -webkit-hyphens: none;
    	-moz-hyphens: none;
    	hyphens: none;
    }

    Yes, of course.

    Can I send you a message somewhere, with the username and password to the site? It’s not open to the public yet.

    Thanks for the help so far.

    (@revs)

    Of course. There you go.

    Edit: The title is misleading… it said “one <br /> in the widgets equals like two <br />s in the site body.”

    Inserted on a page and don’t use the widget anymore, solved.
