In reply to: Re-installing WP 2.7.1 – Bugs in DashboardYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! I think I solved my issue. For some reason my computer was not extracting all the files from the WP zip file. I simply uploaded those on to a flash drive & used another computer to extract & upload. Looks like the issues is resolved. Maybe an anit-virus software issue? Thanks again!

In reply to: Re-installing WP 2.7.1 – Bugs in DashboardHey Otto-
Thanks again for your help. I looked at my zipped file & compared it to the extracted & there are definitely files missing. I tried manually to extract it, but my PC said there was an error in copying.
I tired downloading another version, it still has the same issue with extraction. Any clues or hints?
I am going through this thread right now, but like i said it seems to be an extraction issue.

In reply to: WordPress 2.7 Visual Editor has Vanished on some PostsHere’s the deal – it’s something to do with the extraction. In the zipped file, all the files listed on Natarem’s page are in there, but when I extract it, they don’t come out. I tried manually doing it, but no dice. Not sure what the deal is …

In reply to: WordPress 2.7 Visual Editor has Vanished on some PostsI’m having the same issues to. It is a Javascript issue as natarem suggested. I threw in my old JS files with the new & it seems to address some of the issue but not all. I am going to try another complete re-install as he suggested:

Let me know if you’ve discovered a cure for the problem

In reply to: Re-installing WP 2.7.1 – Bugs in DashboardI downloaded the copy this morning & it looks like other people are having the same issue …

I also tried to download the 2.7 version, but still had the same issue.
The “JS folder” under WP-Includes has subfolders to it, but none of them have nearly as many documents as my old “JS” folder ….
Is there any other place that would have a safe copy of WP? I am thinking it’s just a ton of bugs or someone has tampered the file?

In reply to: Re-installing WP 2.7.1 – Bugs in DashboardI looked at my “JS” folder under WP-Includes – I hope that’s what you mean by Java Script. Most of the folder are empty – not sure what’s up with that ….
I’ve re-imported my old JS files in the mean time, and then dropped in any files that were new. Now I can edit somewhat, but it’s still not the same. Can’t switch between views of Visual & HTM and still don’t have editing functions like insert a photo.
Here’s an updated screen grab. I am wondering if I downloaded a bad version of WP & I should just re-download another one from somewhere else. Any ideas are welcomed. 🙂

In reply to: Re-installing WP 2.7.1 – Bugs in DashboardI did clear my browser cache & nada.
Where are the javascript files? Is this something I would want to transfer over from my old version of WP or is there a certain place I can find it?
Thanks for the help.

In reply to: Re-installing WP 2.7.1 – Bugs in DashboardP.S. When I say I was promoted to ‘Upgrade’ it was for my server database.
Again, everything else seems to be working fine, just the posts section is wrong.
