Hello @chcw!
Starting from version 14.0 of Yoast SEO, we started using a custom database table for our metadata. We didn’t remove the data from wp_postmeta though, we just copied it to where we could access it most efficiently.
If you want the data from wp_postmeta copied, you need to reset the Yoast database tables by doing the following steps:
- Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
- Go to Tools > Yoast Test
- Hit the “Reset indexables & migrations” button
- Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “Process and speed up site” button to allow Yoast to rescan your pages
Hello @bernardino24!
Sorry for the trouble. The latest version of WordPress triggered some conflicts between Yoast SEO and a few other plugins (and themes), especially the ones that are running older codes. So we can pinpoint where the conflict lies, we need you to perform a conflict check. The fastest way to do this is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Nineteen.
Test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check without affecting normal visitors to your site.
As we can imagine, you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts. So we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts.

Hello @revschaef!
We checked the URL you provided and we can see the meta description as “The blog of Rev. Mark Schaefer containing articles, sermons, essays, book excerpts, and reflections on faith, theology, and language.”. What focus keyword/keyphrase are you using?
As for the focus keyphrase not in first paragraph warning, this is often thrown out if there’s an HTML element, code, image, or whitespace around the keyword which is affecting Yoast’s ability to scan for it. Can you please switch to classical or code view and inspect the post and check if there’s anything above the first paragraph?
Hello @lbrownie!
Can you please try resetting the Yoast database tables by doing the following steps?
- Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
- Go to Tools > Yoast Test
- Hit the “Reset indexables & migrations” button
- Go to SEO > Tools, and under SEO data, click the “Process and speed up site” button to allow Yoast to rescan your pages
Does it fix the canonical issue?

Hello @yourjayanth!
As previously mentioned, preview is only available in the premium version but you can still change the social image for your homepage using the free version.
If your homepage displays your latest post, you can set a Facebook image under SEO > Social > Facebook tab > Frontpage settings.
If you’re using a static homepage, you can set a Facebook image on the page itself as described by @devnihil above.
Hello @namaste24!
Thanks for getting back to us.
I ran the URL you labeled “incorrect” on Google’s Rich Result Test and it shows there are 4 items on its breadcrumbs. See result here.
So the path should have been this:
Strona główna >> Maty do jogi >> Maty do jogi z pvc >> Mata do jogi YOGISTAR Basic – OLIVE 4mmIs this your expected breadcrumbs path? If so, you may need to clear all your cache from your cache plugin (if you’re running one), theme, server or CDN such as Cloudflare. If you are not sure how to clear your server cache, please speak with your host provider.
You’re welcome, @mushlih!
@hardel, yes. You can take a look at http://directory.codepoet.com or http://codeable.io. Both websites list good freelance (WordPress) developers.
Hello @jasonching!
That directory contains less than 50 files. Can you please download a fresh copy of the plugin and replace your existing installation? All your settings are saved in your database so even if you remove the plugin and install it again, they’re all safe.
For the health and safety of your site, we recommend creating regular backups of your site and database. This is especially important before installing, updating or removing plugins.
Hello @namaste24!
What version of Yoast SEO are you running? There was a bug related to this in an older version of the plugin but was fixed in version 14.2. The latest version is 14.8. Can you please make sure you’re updated?
Hello @denbuzz!
I tried sharing your site on WhatsApp and here’s what I got: https://imgur.com/7NrSPIU
Btw, just an FYI, it took me a few seconds for the image to show up.
Hello @mushlih!
You can use 301. 404 is not a redirect type. It’s an error code which means “not found”. 301, on the other hand, is a redirect type. This is the redirect type you would use for permanently deleted or moved pages.
Hello @pross!
You may need to check with Beaver Builder to see if their implementation is still compatible with the recent version, especially that a WordPress core update has been released.
