Hello @esweis!
We checked the URL you provided and clicked on “Authors & Books” and “News & Events” on the breadcrumbs and they’re both working fine except that “News & Events” is still loading the HTTP (not secure) version. Can you please clear your browser’s cache and cookies then try it again?
Hello @jvsteen!
What focus keyphrase/keyword are you using to optimize this page? Can you please provide us a screenshot of your Yoast SEO metabox showing the focus keyphrase as well as the error?
Hello @oldskulltuning!
Have you tried clearing your browser’s cache? You may need to reboot your server as well.
Hey @mushlih!
Looks like the second screenshot provided is incorrect. Sorry about that. Here it is: https://prnt.sc/ubz3yh
Hey Dan!
This could be caused by a conflict with another plugin or your theme. Can you please make sure you’re running the latest version of your theme and ALL other plugins?
Since the release of WordPress 5.5, we’ve seen quite a few conflicts, especially with those that are running older codes. Most plugin and theme developers released an update after the WordPress 5.5 release. Please check your other plugins if there are any that haven’t been updated for very long. If you found any, please try deactivating it and see if it fixes the issue.
If everything’s updated, please perform a conflict check. The fastest way to do this is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Nineteen. If no issue occurs, reactivate your other plugins one at a time and see if the issue occurs for every plugin reactivated. Lastly, reactivate your theme.
Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, please use the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin allows you to run a conflict check without affecting normal visitors to your site. Steps here.
Hello @intervik!
This is actually a Gutenberg feature that allows you to move the boxes. With this feature, all boxes are treated as one long list of boxes, including that in the sidebar. So if you’ve clicked the down arrow, the Yoast meta box will jump to the sidebar if it’s the last visible box. So you need to click the up arrow (multiple times if necessary) to push the meta box from the sidebar back under the content box.
Hello @koolpal!
We need more information so we can investigate. Can you please try to reproduce the issue on a site that is online so we can take a look at the specific URL?
Hello @adwiz!
We checked the source code of the URL you provided and we couldn’t find an og:image. We also ran the URL on the Facebook debug tool and it says this:
The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
If you didn’t set an opengraph image on the social tab of the Yoast SEO metabox, by default, the plugin will use the featured image or any image on the content as an alternative. If the plugin fails to do this, it could be due to a conflict with your other plugins or your theme. Can you please perform a conflict check? Please follow the steps here.
Hello @humzaarain!
What version of Yoast SEO are you running? Can you please make sure you’re updated? The latest version is 14.9. Please also make sure that your WordPress (5.5.1), theme, and ALL other plugins are up-to-date.
Just an FYI, with the latest WordPress core update, plugins (or themes) running older codes may cause conflicts with other plugins. If you’re running a plugin that hasn’t been updated since the release of WordPress 5.5, try disabling that and see if it resolves the issue.
Hello @thegulshankumar!
Not with the Yoast SEO plugin alone. You’ll need an extension called Yoast WooCommerce SEO. If you’re using WooCommerce, the Yoast WooCommerce SEO plugin will output the Review and AggregateRating data as long as the product has reviews. More information about Yoast WooCommerce SEO here.
If your site is redirecting properly from HTTP to HTTPS then it makes the rel canonical tag redundant. So you can leave it blank. Google will eventually find out that the URLs are redirected to the HTTPS version.
We recently fixed a bug causing unrecognizable focus keyphrase if it contains a punctuation mark such as a period. Can you please make sure your plugin is updated? The latest version is 14.8.1. Please also make sure that your WordPress, theme and all other plugins are up-to-date.
As for your other concern, can you please save the post, clear all your cache (plugin, server, browser, CDN), and open the post again and see if the warning is still there?
No. It will only correct the data, including canonicals, in the Yoast database tables.
Hello, @livingmiracles!
We checked your site and it shows that you’re still running version 14.8 of Yoast SEO. We’ve included a few fixes in version 14.8.1. Can you please update it first to make sure this issue isn’t one we’ve already fixed? Please also make sure that your theme and all other plugins are up-to-date.
Hello @gamma42!
Those are breadcrumbs. Search engines like Google have started showing breadcrumbs, along with the SEO title, on search results and these breadcrumbs are based on your site structure. More details here: https://yoast.com/breadcrumbs-seo/
