In reply to: upgraded to 2.1 – all blankI’m up and running fine now, I figured out the the “Another Flickr Plugin” plugin was what was knocking out my theme. I removed the code for it from my sidebar and deleted the plugin and it’s fine now.

In reply to: upgraded to 2.1 – all blankOk, my site is back up, although 2.1 doesn’t seem to like my theme very much, it’s knocked out my footer and my right sidebar. I still had some work to do on that anyway, so I’m not too fussed about it at the moment.

In reply to: upgraded to 2.1 – all blankThat’s what I’m doing right now, deleting everything. I’ll do a fresh upload once everything has been deleted, instead of doing another upload trying to overwrite the files from 2.0.7.

In reply to: Problems getting Yahoo RightI’ve never used Yahoo for my WP, so I probably have no clue what I’m talking about, but don’t make the changes in the theme editor. Make the changes in the files themselves, and then upload them and overwrite the existing files for the theme.
I’ve had times where I tried editing a theme in the theme editor in the admin panel and nothing happened, so I always edit the files themselves, and upload and overwrite. Works every time that way.

In reply to: Minor Reboot / New Color SchemeHaha, you’re not the only one! I’ve put a flower up in my header as well, even though we’re expecting snow here this weekend, argh.
Yours looks very nice, though the font in your “Movies we’ve watched recently” part is just a tad small, a bit difficult to read a serif font at that size, maybe try Verdana?

In reply to: Big GapI saw this post earlier and was going to answer it and then I came back from looking at the website and couldn’t find the post, and now here it is again. What the heck? LOL

In reply to: Problems getting Yahoo RightHow are you making the changes? Are you using the theme editor in the admin panel? Or are you making the changes offline, saving the files, and then uploading them through FTP into the theme folder?
For me, it doesn’t have anything to do with that plugin because I don’t use it.
I think the issue with my theme reverting to default was because of what vkaryl mentioned above – having two WP installations, one in a subfolder and one in the root.
Anyway, so my fix for the time being is to delete every theme except the one I currently wish to use from both installs of WP. That’s my fix until I become un-lazy enough to figure out how to get down to using just the one WP install, heh.
So far it would seem that there isn’t one common factor that’s causing the theme switching.

In reply to: body of posts pushed down“i managed to fix the problem where i can see the blog properly in firefox but in IE, it doesn’t look right. but that is beside the point now (will deal with that later or not at all as i use firefox all the while).”
Unless you plan on being the only person who views your site, you should make sure your site renders correctly in IE. Not everyone uses FF. I have both FF and IE and end up using IE most often. I’m sure if you view your stats, you’ll find most people are using IE, so you should design with those people in mind.

In reply to: Completely new original theme!I agree with the two folks above. If you want your site to be read/viewed, you need to create a design that is user friendly for everyone. You never know what kind of circumstances are affecting people’s web using experience, and to so blatantly show that you don’t care whether they can easily see your site is a great way to guarantee people won’t return.
