Hi @misterfu,
Thanks for writing in and reporting this issue! It is actually a bug. That line should actually read like:
<li class="molongui-notice-icon-check molongui-notice-only-premium"><span><?php _e( 'Pro only', 'molongui-authorship' ); ?></span><?php printf( __( "%sPro features%s. More layouts, more styles, more customization settings, guest author archive pages and Premium support.", 'molongui-authorship' ), '<strong>', '</strong>' ); ?></li>So there’s an “s” missing after the first “%”. We will release an update with a fix for this.
Thanks again for letting us know 🙂 And happy new year!
Hi @annabwashere,
OK. It might be caused by another plugin conflicting. Could please you check for a plugin conflict? Here you have a step by step guide on how to do that. Please remember to clear any cache your installation might have, including hosting’s.
Knowing the plugin causing the issue, we will be able to look into it and try to find a fix.
Hi @annabwashere,
I’d say that’s what you see while being logged in. Could you please open a new private/incognito tab and check what do you get when viewing that page logged out?
What we see is this: https://imgur.com/a/3dHSMWU
Hi @jumbo,
Sorry about the late reply! And thanks for writing in and letting us know about this!
I see what you mean and why it is important. We will take a look into it and see whether this is something that can be implemented. If it is, we will.
Hi @annabwashere,
If I open that link, I see the author box showing but not displaying any author data, just related posts. And I get the same not matter desktop or mobile. I also see that the author name is missing on the post byline.
Could you please let me know which version of the plugin do you have installed? And could you please check that post has anyone assigned as author?
Please let me know so we can be of better help.
Hi @simonzing,
Thanks for that! We have been able to identify the issue you’re experiencing. We have just released an update (4.2.13) that should fix it.
Please let us know whether the issue is fixed. If it is not we will keep looking into it.
Hi @kacmissenkron,
following your request, we have added a compatibility fix to let the Ultimate Member plugin which posts to list on user profile pages. We will release an update (4.2.13) soon.
Please update the plugin when available and let us know whether it works fine for you.
Thanks for reporting the issue and let us know.
Hi @kacmissenkron,
I’ve checked your site. And now archive pages for those two authors display that post. They even display the author avatar properly. As it looks different, I guess you either disabled that other plugin or fixed the issue and keep on customizing those pages. Anyhow, could you please let us know if you got it fixed or you just disabled the plugin to avoid the issue meanwhile?
If you disabled that other plugin and you still want to use it for your author archives, please let us know which plugin is it so we can take a look into it.
Best!
Hi @simonzing,
the issue reported by @ideawrights only applied to those installations having those two features disabled. So yours must be a different issue. Having access would be great as it allows us to debug the issue. So if you have the chance, whenever it is possible, please do. Meanwhile, maybe you could go to your Dashboard, Molongui > Support and scroll down the page to the bottom. There you will see a button labeled “Send report”. Please click on it so we can get insight on how your installation is configured. Maybe that’s enough for us to reproduce the issue on our testing server and look for a fix.
(For others having the issue reported in this ticket) When closing this ticket we forgot to mention that all those posts that had the author reverted to the current user, need manually fix. So you need to go edit each post showing the wrong author and select the correct author(s).
Hi all,
Thanks to @ideawrights, who provided the steps to reproduce the issue and set up a staging site for us to check, we have been able to fix the reported issue. It only happened when having both the guest authoring and co-authoring features disabled.
We’ve just released an update (4.2.12) with the fix.
Thank you all for reporting the issue. And thanks again to @ideawrights for his help on this.
Hi all,
Thanks for letting us know. Thing is we have tried to reproduce the issue on our testing server and we are not experiencing the reported issue. So far we’ve tried to:
1) Edit an existing post with a different admin user than the one assigned as author. Save post. Refresh the backend page. Author selection is unaltered and both, byline and author box are displaying the correct (assigned and unaltered) user as author.
2) Edit an existing post with with a different admin user than the one assigned as author and switch assigned user to a new one. Save post. Refreshed page. Again, everything OK.
3) The same two things mentioned above but with an editor user instead of an admin. Again, everything looking fine.
Let’s wait for @ideawrights to open a support ticket and provide admin access so we can look into it. Or maybe either @enventa or @simonzing wish to let us take a look into their installation so we can do some research.
Hi @ideawrights,
Sure. If you provide us access, we will definitely look into it. Please open a support ticket with us either using the form available at the Molongui > Support menu item on your Dashboard or on our site.
Thanks!
Hi @ideawrights,
could you please let us know which WP and plugin version are you running?
Hi @teresasumisu,
we got no reply from you but another user reported a similar issue. We have released an update (4.2.10) with a fix regarding author avatar not being displayed on the author box in some installations.
Hope this was the same issue you had. I’m marking this ticket as resolved, but feel free to re-open it if the issue you reported persists. If you do, please mind to share a URL to a page in your site having the issue.
Hi @jwhberlin,
Thanks for providing more detail. Can’t be sure, but that issue reassembles a lot to the one I mentioned as fixed in version 4.2.9. Would had helped to know which version you had installed. If it wasn’t 4.2.9, probably and update would have fixed the issue. Anyway, thanks for reporting it and so sorry you give up on the plugin.
I’m closing the ticket now, but feel free to re-open it if anything.
Best,
Monlongui Supoort Team
