Hello, what you could do is to edit your .htaccess file via FTP.
find and erase :
# BEGIN Hide Backend # Rules to hide the dashboard RewriteRule ^/your-hidden-admin-name/?$ /wp-login.php [QSA,L] # END Hide BackendOr you can only keep everithing that has not be set by this plugin, so you will erase all content that begin with :
# BEGIN iThemes Securityand end with :
# END iThemes SecurityIf you have changed the name of the folder for this plugin, put the original one (via FTP).
Then log to your back-office using normal name : /wp-login.php (or /wp-admin/)…
May be this will work, try it.
After that you can regenarate your .htaccess file via the settings in iThemes Security, just clicking on one of the “save all changes” button.i hope this will work for you
Best regards

This is just a sugestion, I am not an absolute expert.
Have you try to desactivate this pugin, to manualy clean your .htaccess file from BWPS inserts (and also check your wp-config.php file) with write mode enable by FTP…Then you try to log-out. If this don’t your problem is somewhere else.
If it work, you will need to login again with wp-login.php page and then you will be able to activate again BWPS, and then to regenarate .htaccess file by going on BWPS settings and clicking on some “save all changes” button…
I have see around also some people having bizare issues on this forum, uninstalling the plugin, then install again, to get rid of their problem.
Hope you will find the good solution
Best regards

Hello
Let us know which one,
Thanks
Hello ,
Yes for me i have this as duplicate content :
# Rules to disable directory browsing Options -Indexesbut that apparently have no impact.
May be you can erase only the duplicate content you have put…
Like this the plugin could write directly on your .htaccess file.Best regards

Yes Viktor is right 🙂 I forgot this… 🙂
Hello Viktor
Yes it will.
For this feature, in the database you have only the saved setting, and this take effect in the .htaccess file. This is my experience and my opinion. Only the dev of this plugin is the one who can really confirm or not what i am saying.
Have a nice night

Helo,
An alternative solution, is to open the .htaccess file with write mode enable (CHMOD 644 or permissions: rw-r–r–) and erase temporaly :
`
# BEGIN Hide Backend
# Rules to hide the dashboard
RewriteRule ^/xxxxxxxxxxx/?$ /wp-login.php [QSA,L]# END Hide Backend
`xxxxxxxxxxx is the slug you have used instead of wp-admin or login.php
i hope that will help other people also

hello,
may be try to desactivate manualy the plugin by FTP, the you will figure out what is really going on…
Let me know
L..
Hello,
I am a private user,
Are you running last wordpress version?Try to suppress this plugin manualy by FTP
I suggest you this :
– backup your database (if you know how to do it => phpMyAdmin)
– backup your website files (at least the theme and upload directory), the wp-content directory will be better (dont forget also the .htaccess and wp-config.phpfiles.
– Update to last wordpress version (if your theme is compatible)Then see if your site is comming on again.
Exceptionally i can give you a hand i you are completely losed…
Best regards

Helo
you mean the code is like this :
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On # Rules to protect wp-includes RewriteRule ^wp-admin/includes/ - [F] RewriteRule !^wp-includes/ - [S=3] RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !^(.*)wp-includes/ms-files.php RewriteRule ^wp-includes/[^/]+\.php$ - [F] RewriteRule ^wp-includes/js/tinymce/langs/.+\.php - [F] RewriteRule ^wp-includes/theme-compat/ - [F] </IfModule> # END TweaksI think it’s just a little display bug in the plug-in dashboard, that will not affect the efficiency of your .htaccess file if you copy paste it like this.
For me, i let the plugin doing automaticaly his job, and there is no any kind of problem on .htaccess file. I have also other rules handed added on this file, and the plug-in don’t cause any trouble.
Why do you make the changes manualy?
I hope you will find the good solution…

May be you have to look in the .htaccess file in the root directory of your wordpress website.
If you have somewhere something like :
Order allow, deny SetEnvIF REMOTE_ADDR "^132\.22\.132\.22$" DenyAccess SetEnvIF X-FORWARDED-FOR "^132\.22\.132\.22$" DenyAccess SetEnvIF X-CLUSTER-CLIENT-IP "^132\.22\.132\.22$" DenyAccessthe 3 last lines for each banned IP (132.22.132.22 in here), is that is working fine… If not, you have to autorize the plugin to write into this file .htaccess file :
Global settings > Write to Files > Allow iThemes Security to write to wp-config.php and .htaccess.I hope this will help
Best regards

Hello
i use also this plugin, but not the backup feature.
May be :
– the backup archive is to big to be sended by email
– your email box is full,
– the provider or server has some problems to mail
– there is a bug in this plug-in updateAn alternative solution :
For backup purpose you can use another free plugin like BackUpWordPress that has more complete features.
You can also use with it, a free database plugin optimizator like WP-optimize to optimize and discrease your database size, before doing updates…I hope you will find the good solution
Best regards

Hello,
That don’t meen you have been hacked… The plug-in memorize what has changed in your files, even plug-in updates, uploads… You have to go to the Logs page of this plugin to see what has change in your files.best regards
