I you look through the threads you will see a lot of people having trouble with white list feature…
Yes i know very well what is about: I have exactly 27 web sites running for clients with this plugin, but i just use some features…
Me and my clients have not any kind of problems, specifically with locked outfeature for the moment…
I just try to help people (like you do) with alternatives solutions.
For your information the “white-list” feature is not working on this plugin, there is also a bug. That is one reason, i came to this forum.
Ah ok good news… No i think there is just a problem we this update in particular…
I have just send an email to iThemes company because some people are getting very angry: have a look to this thread: “Getting Locked Out of your own Site? Disable and STOP using this Plugin”.
There is at lot of bugs in this version, try to report this one (email backup)… Like i was saying to you i don’t use the backup feature.Hello

Going to itheme Security settings find Banned users section and in the Ban Hosts field, erase the IPs related to Bing (you can find them into your iThemes Security – Logs). then save…

An alternative way, is to clean up the .htaccess file of all iThemes Security inserts by FTP. First you have to change permission of .htaccess file from r–r–r– (444) to rw-r–r– (644).
Now you can erase all content in between :# BEGIN iThemes Security ... ... ... ... # END iThemes SecurityDon’t forget to save this new file to your server…
Normally, you will be able to login again to your web site with “login.php” (or “wp-admin/”) slugs…
Check, first your iThemes Security settings to find out if something is wrong.
The .htaccess file will be regenerated by clicking on any “Save all changes” button on this settings page.I hope this will help.

Yes sorry there is a bug with “Lockout White List” feature not working properly in version 4.2.6 of iTheme Security. As you can see, if you put your IP in “Lockout White List” field and validate, If you go to “Brute Force Protection” you have this:
• Is this computer white-listed: no.I just find out a form for reporting bugs and so i have reported. We have to wait the next update.

Can you still login as admin?
If yes, maybe what you can do, is to white list your IP putting it in:
the plugin settings > “Lockout White List” field… you put your IP there, and you will get never lockedout.i hope this will work for you,

Go to iThemes Security menu > “settings”.
Go to “Banned users” section and enable “ban user” checkbox.
A “Ban Hosts” Field appear and you can put in there all the china IPs (one per line).
Then “save all changes”.Each time you see in the iThemes Security > “logs” supicious IPs copy and paste them in “Ban Hosts” Field.
For the moment, there is a bug in iThemes Security 4.2.6 for wildcards IP, i mean with “*” character to replace a range of IP. They do not work. So you have to paste each IP (one per line).
