Maybe it’s our connection. It still takes over one minute to load completely in my Firefox and my roommate keeps getting a timeout error in both FireFox and IE.

If yours still loads fine with the smaller background reattached then I will check with my ISP about their end.

    Thanks

Changed the background from 1,262,082 bytes to 393,288 bytes.

However, I set my theme option to NO BACKGROUND andit is still slow.

That should be the correct place.

Are you sure you are looking for the right file? Sometimes a theme’s name and it’s file may be different. A theme named “Crunchy Chocolate Orange” could be in a folder named “MyFirstTheme“.

Do you have a lot of themes or just a few? Back up your themes folder and try removing themes one at a time and refreshing your themes page until you no longer see your current theme. Then put the last one (or all of them) back in.

    Quick comments:

    1. Get rid of the date in the photo. It’s already almost a year old. People may think that the site is not being updated very often.

    2. Reduce the size of the headings in the middle column. The word “Announcements” goes into the white border between columns.

    3. Put a line-break between the graphic of the knot and the words “Turks head knot”. Right now the graphic and the word “Turk” is on the same line and the words “Head Knot” are below.

    4. Follow “Our Scoutmaster: Lonnie Wold” with a head shot photo of him.

Other than that, even though you have a lot of links, etc. in the third column, it looks apropos to your site.

I suggest that you find someone with a better understanding of English to fix the grammar on your website. There are many grammatical errors. Also, the use and misuse of words make it a bit difficult to read and understand.

According to latest (last) research(es) there are a few million(s of) blogs on the internet. Most (of) bloggers have chosen personal (autonomous) blogs as a platform for creating (directing) their (net) journal. Most popular among them is (are) WordPress (Themes).
WordPress Themes is (are) perfect for blogs. They are available in several (few) languages.
After the user is registered for the service he can start editing his (the) journal. (It’s important that if the service stopped satisfying you, you can export records and comments in XML format.)
The distinguishing feature of WordPress themes is a very useful GUI (window) for creating new records.

    Let’s try something simple –

Did you ever create a database?

If so, what did you name it? What user name and password did you create it with?

Don’t post the last answer here.

    $db_host = “localhost”;

    Server: Localhost via UNIX socket

Check with your Host. My host requires something in the form of

    $db_host = “localhost:/mysql.sock”

now that you have your theme uncompressed and ready to use, you need to put these files on your webhost so they can be used. Do this the same way that you uploaded your main wordpress file. Most people use an ftp program and some use their control panel, if it allows you to upload entire folders or directories. In your main wordpress directory will be a folder called wp-content. open that one up. Inside that is a folder called themes. open that up. Here is where you want to upload all the new files.

An archive is a compressed file. The most popular version is called a zip (or zipped) file and has the file extension of .zip, such as theme.zip. Most WordPress themes and plugins are in the form of zip files. What they actually are is a normal file, or set of files, that is compressed, made smaller, by the compression program. These compressed files can not be used until they are uncompressed or (in the case of zip files) unzipped.

Most computers, when you click on the file, it will start your unzip utility automatically. If not, right-click and then look for a line that some something like unzip, uncompress, unarchive, or something similar. It may give you options of locations to place the files. Don’t worry about this. But make sure to tell it to place the output in a new folder. This is not often needed, but sometimes the output is not already in a separate folder and then all the files will come out mixed all over the place with other files on your computer and can leave a mess trying to figure out which ones are part of that zipped archive and which ones are not.

Now, when you enter the folder, if all you see is a single folder, then just copy that folder to your wordpress site (the inside folder). If you see a bunch of files and folders inside the original folder then the person zipping the files screwed up and you will be glad that you created the new folder.
