In reply to: [Online Backup for WordPress] Backups not deletingLet’s say I have enough backup space to save 5 backups of my website. Is there a function for getting ride of the oldest one to make room for the newest backup? This would be on an online site like DropBox.
Thanks,

In reply to: Can't Add, Delete, Update Plugins after migrationI just spoke to my client’s webhost. It was explained to me that they are primarily a web developer aka make websites for others themselves. They have decided to use “Hardened PHP” instead of regular(?) PHP. This to insure the sensitive things they do like eCommerce stays maximally protected.
This makes the dashboard functionality of WordPress with plugins and image files impossible or necessary to do via FTP. The FTP being to change file permissions of folders and files/folders inside those folders temporarily to get functionality. If that fails, the next step is to add and delete via FTP exclusively.
I judge that to be WordPress unfriendly.

In reply to: Bluehost, REALLY???I’m on Bluehost.com and am happy with them and that doesn’t mean you have to be. I’ve got my own problems with a site I just migrated from Bluehost to a mom & pop webhost. I talk about my problem here.
I am looking at using this plugin called Duplicator for migrating WordPress websites in the future. I have not used it myself. It seems very easy thorough at the same time. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/duplicator/
You will see some others write/blog about it.
If it helps use it.
Good Luck

In reply to: Can't Add, Delete, Update Plugins after migrationYes to your first question. Yes to your second question to the best of my ability. I went through each part of my database using PHPmyAdmin and changed the URL there everywhere I saw it.
I’ve used the search and replace plugin in the past.

In reply to: Can't Add, Delete, Update Plugins after migrationMy apologies for not getting the posting coding protocol right. I’ve removed the above coding from the wp-config.php file. The website now asks for FTP inside WordPress again. Still no updating going on.

In reply to: Can't Add, Delete, Update Plugins after migrationYes, I can do all those things using my FTP client. That was the only way I could get the latest versions of the Event Espresso plugins into my WordPress.
