Hi
This looks like a conflict between NextGen Gallery and JetPack’s lazy loading.
– Navigate to Jetpack → Settings → Performance.
– Scroll to the Performance and Speed section.
– Click the toggle to deactivate Lazy loading for images. That should solve it.
Hi @mrtopgun,
NextGen Gallery, unfortunately, doesn’t include a custom exporting/importing tool for the galleries so you’ll need to follow the basic migration outline to be able to copy over the needed files and database’s tables to your new site:
Basic Migration Outline:
On origin site:
- create a full verified backup of the site (all files and the entire database)
- clear transients
- copy all database tables
- copy gallery folders and contents
On destination site (WordPress default installation):
- ensure NextGEN Gallery plugin(s) are installed (and activated)
- paste gallery folders and contents
- paste (overwrite) all database tables
- clear transients
- optional, use Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options
We’ve moved to local font loading a while ago so if you use the latest version of NextGen Gallery – it shouldn’t try to load or pre-load web fonts. More than this, I don’t think we’ve ever needed Roboto font for NGG ( we use local hosted Lato for the most ).
You can try deactivating NGG plugin to see if your site still tries to load Roboto font then go from there.
Could you please let us know what hosting provider you use for your site?
As an experiment, you can try adding the following constant by FTP to your site’s wp-config.php file to see if that’ll change anything while uploading images with the latest version of NextGen Gallery:
define("NGG_DISABLE_IMAGICK", true);Feel free to submit a report using the https://www.imagely.com/report-bug/ page and we’ll check it.
Thanks!
Hi @sarahsas,
Thanks. This notice doesn’t seem to have to do with the issue you are getting.
After accessing your gallery from
Manage Galleries, you can pressF12key to open the browser’sDevToolsthen access theNetworktab, select"Fetch/XHR"filter then press to edit any of your thumbs and access the request that’ll appear ( it should look likeedit-thumbnail.php?id=100) and finally access theResponsesub-tab to see what’s the request’s return.Perhaps that’ll provide you with some ideas on what’s happening. Sometimes that’s because of the site’s or hosting’s firewall blocking the request and in that case – you’d need to whitelist it.
Can you please provide us with an example of gallery page for us to better understand it?
Lightboxes use a lot of dynamic code for the images’ sizing which means that they up-scale or down-scale the images by height or by width for them to fit into the small mobile screen’s container. To exemplify it – a landscape image with a small height will look tiny on mobile screen if viewing it in the lightbox while holding the mobile vertically. This would be expected and there’s not much we can suggest here. You can turn your mobile device horizontally to see the landscape image larger.
P.S. NextGen doesn’t come with mobile settings for the lightbox.
You can re-size your images from
"NextGen Gallery -> Manage Gallery"up to the needed size ( but that cannot exceed toe originals’ resolution ):

Hi @feliperaptor,
We hope you wouldn’t mind contacting our support team directly at https://www.imagely.com/report-bug/ for us to inspect it closer.
Thanks
That’s odd. Could you make sure you press “Insert Gallery” button after doing changes?
In any case, here’s an example of shortcode that you can adapt for your own use:
[ngg src="galleries" ids="1" display="basic_thumbnail" images_per_page="4" number_of_columns="2"]In this case – you can control the column and the pagination settings from the inserted “NextGen Block” accessing “Customize Display Setting” tab.

You can access
"NextGen Gallery -> Gallery Settings -> Basic Thumbnails"then set the columns amount and the images per page from there for it to keep that setting every time when inserting a new NextGen Gallery block to a page.Could you please let us know if you have installed JetPack as a must use plugin?
Hi @alexander656,
Could you please let us know what lightbox effect you use? You can find that within
"NextGen Gallery -> Other Options -> Lightbox Effects -> What lightbox would you like to use?"Hi @feliperaptor,
Could you please let us know what editor and PHP version you use for your site? We have heard of another similar case happening while JetPack was active but we couldn’t replicate it so far.
I am wondering if adding the following constant by FTP to your site’s
wp-config.phpfile ( somewhere above the/* That's all, stop editing! Happy publishing. */line ) will change anything:define("NGG_DISABLE_SHORTCODE_MANAGER", TRUE);- This reply was modified 4 years ago by Imagely.
