In reply to: [PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce] Invoice amounts alignmentOkay,I changed to the Simple Template in V3 and enabled the Shipping Address setting. Looks pretty close to the custom template I was using before, so I’m happy.
Thanks again for the excellent support.

You replied: Wow, it’s surprised that it was still working: This says a lot about the backward compatibility of our plugin! π
Actually, vwersion 1.43 was the first time I installed it. I have religiously upgraded over 100 times since then. Version 3 seems to be the first time in all these years that the original custom template no longer worked.
I’ll check out your advice about the shipping address.
Thanks!

In reply to: [PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce] Invoice amounts alignmentI just compared my old custom template to your new Simple template. I’m surprised you still don’t automatically include a separate field group for Shipping Address. In over 30% of our orders, that data is different, so we want that to show up on the invoice and packing slip. On my old custom template everything else is pretty much the same as your Simple Template but adding the shipping address required shifting some elements around.
Honestly, I don’t remember how we set this up way back when (I just looked in my notes: it was Version 1.4.3 in July 2014!). And looking at the plug-in’s settings page, I don’t see how we add the Shipping Address to the Simple Template – there is an option that costs money and there are the action hooks, but looking at the explanations how to do this, it makes my head hurt since there are so many options.
I know this is second nature for you – easy peasy – but I guess if I were asked, I’d have to say the thing I’ve liked least about this extension is that its been updated so many times I find it difficult to use all the new stuff since I am not a programmer. I guess the simplest thing for me is to go back to just re-upload version 2.16 and ignore the constant barrage of updates. According to my quick count, since Version 1.43 there have been over a hundred updates. I have some WP plug-ins that have only been updated a few times in that period and they all work fine.
Hey, sorry about the rant. If asked, I’d still rate your plug-in FIVE ***** STARS!

In reply to: [PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce] Invoice amounts alignmentI found the custom template here:
wp-content/themes/metro-pro/woocommerce/pdf/yourtemplate
what do I need to do?

In reply to: [PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce] Invoice amounts alignmentIt says “yourtemplate (Custom)” under Choose a template but when I go into the plug-in’s template folder via FTP, I don’t see that template. It’s been years since I set this up so I’m not sure anymore about how this template was originally created.
As everyone using this plugin probably knows, after several problems with updating feeds, the plugin finally stopped working this week.
I looked at other free plugins but most don’t offer as much functionality (as this plugin had) until you buy their “Pro” versions.
My temporary solution – to put an Instagram post in a WP widget – is to open my IG account, go to the post I want, click on the pop up menu under the 3 dots in upper right, choose Embed and copy the code. In WP, under Appearances > Widgets, get a Text widget, select the “text view” tab, choose the code option and paste in the IG code and add a “close” code tag. I actually put our most recent Reel into the widget, and the IG embed code included comments and a link to our main IG page. Nice!
Just wish it could be a feed instead of a manual update each time I want to change the IG post.
I don’t see a specific setting called “feed refresh time” so I assume you mean the “Check for new images every:” setting. I set it to 1 hour, the minimum, but after 1 hour nothing changed.
It seems this problem started when Instagram recently changed their algorithm and also added Reels. We have been doing Reels but intermixed with standard photo posts. I’m not seeing any of the new standard photo posts except for the single one I mentioned earlier, after deleting and reinstalling my account in your plugin. I’m not seeing any Reels at all. Though playing Reels video in the feed may not be possible, the “poster” still frame that Instagram uses should be possible.
Do you have any plans to add Reels to the feed?
I may have written too soon – just checked the slider and only one new post is showing up — all the others are 2 weeks or older.
Very strange.
I just went back after 12 hours and now the feed is updating.
Thanks for the tip!
I hope its an easy fix in the plugin so I don’t have keep updating my account.
Thanks for the reply.
I deleted my account and created a new one. I also quit my browser and restarted.
No update or change after 30 minutes, or after refreshing the page.

In reply to: [PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce] Print option not workingOK, I think I solved it.
Besides our Woocommerce store we also have an Etsy account and the same problem occurs with their system of printing and saving PDFs – Firefox just auto downloads the PDF.
Works normally in Chrome, offering options to Print, Save PDF or both.
I went into Firefox preferences and discovered the PDF setting had somehow been changed to Save File instead of Open in Firefox.
Since I am the only person with access to this computer and didn’t chnage it, I’m at a loss to know how it happened. If other settings had been changed I would suspect a bot on some site messed with Firefox.
Also, I did not add any recent extensions/plugins to Firefox.
In retrospect, I should have checked this right off the bat, but because I had not made any changes to Firefox myself, I was thrown off track. And there are so many WordPress and Woocommerce plugin updates coming in (it seems) almost every week, I was sure the problem was a plugin conflict.

In reply to: [PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce] Print option not workingOK, this is starting to make sense.
The browser launch for the PDF invoice works on the laptop using the same version of Firefox.
But the template is still a default – at least its not my custom template.
But when trying to figure this out yesterday I deleted the WooCommerce PDF Invoice plugin, then installed a fresh copy of an older version of the plugin. That didn’t make a difference so I updated the plugin to the latest version again. I may have lost the link to my template during that process.
Sorry for all this but I still can’t figure out what on my desktop machine is causing Firefox to conflict erratically with WooCommerce PDF Invoice. If it was consistently not working that’s one thing, but this “working correctly” and then “not working” is maddening.
Writing it out here helps me think it through. If you (@alexmigf) have any suggestions…
