In reply to: [Facebook Chat Plugin - Live Chat Plugin for WordPress] chat not showing upHi @jorgep4dill4,
I’ve had a look at your site, and I can see the Chat plugin loading up just fine. The code appears to be installed correctly.
I’ll mark this as resolved, but do let us know if you’re encountering any further issues!
Thanks,

Hi @satyajitghosh,
As noted in the FAQ, sites accessed via IP addresses are not supported. The site must have a domain name associated with it in order to use the Chat plugin.
Hope this helps,

You don’t need to retrieve the code snippet from the FB Page settings if you’re using the WordPress plugin. The WordPress plugin will add the code to your site automatically 🙂
Hope this clarifies,

Sure. The admin of the Facebook Page to which the plugin is connected, should go to Facebook, click on “Pages”, open the Facebook Page in question, and click on the “Settings” option in the left-hand menu. Then, in “General” (the first tab), look for “Page visibility”, “Country restrictions”, and “Age restrictions”.
Those are the settings that you’ll need to manage.
Hope this helps!

Hi @hearandfound,
I’ve had a look at your website, but the code doesn’t appear to be installed. Did you uninstall the plugin? Please go through the install process again from the beginning, and let us know if you’re still experiencing any issues.
Thanks!

Hi @vinhqn,
I’ve looked at your site on both desktop and mobile, and it appears to be working fine on both.
I’ll mark this as resolved, but please let us know if you’re still experiencing an issue.
Thanks,

Hi @frankgao0592,
Thanks for getting in touch. Could you explain in a bit more detail what you mean by “the frequent questions setting on the plugin setting is overriding the messaging setting in my Facebook page”. Which setting does this refer to?
Thanks,
Facebook Team
Hi @christopheran,
I would recommend:
– Upgrading to the latest version of the WordPress plugin.
– If you’re using the “Custom pages” setting in “Advanced Configuration”, ensure that you’ve checked the boxes for the pages of your site on which you’d like the plugin to appear.
– Check that the settings have been saved to your WP database properly. If the button on the “Getting Started?” card still reads “Setup Chat plugin”, then that is an indication that no settings have yet been saved.Hope this helps!

Hi @keltsidis,
The FB Page your Chat plugin installation is associated with is geo-restricted. This means that only users with an active Facebook session, who are from the allowed region will be able to view/interact with the Chat plugin. For other visitors to your website, the plugin will not load.
If you’d like the Chat plugin to be available to all visitors (including those not logged in to Facebook), then any active restrictions (age or location) on the FB Page, should be removed. This can be done by a Page admin, via the Page settings.
Hope this helps!

There is currently a known issue where FAQ questions and answers don’t function properly in chat threads which have been deleted and restarted. However, this does not affect the vast majority of visitors who would be engaging with the Page for the first time (i.e. the FAQ responses will work fine).
Although it is unlikely this will affect regular visitors to your website, nonetheless, the issue is being investigated and worked on, and we expect a fix soon.
Thanks for your understanding,
Facebook Team
Great to hear! I’ll mark this as resolved.
All the best,

In reply to: [Facebook Chat Plugin - Live Chat Plugin for WordPress] FailHi @gsim,
Thanks for the feedback. Would you be able to describe the specific issue you’re having with the plugin in the PHP8 environment?
Thanks,
Facebook Team
Hi @frankgao0592,
Automated responses aren’t part of the Chat plugin settings specifically, but can be set via the Page settings for the FB Page which your Chat plugin is connected to. Page Settings -> Messaging -> Set up automated responses.
Having set up the auto-responses there, they will become available in the plugin.
Hope this clarifies!

Hi @windowswill,
If that’s the case, it seems like the settings aren’t being saved to your local database. Can I confirm that you have full admin access to the WordPress installation?
Thanks,

In reply to: [Facebook Chat Plugin - Live Chat Plugin for WordPress] Custom Page DisplayHi @goldenshawarma,
That’s strange. That box is scrollable, so you have tried scrolling down, yes? If so, is there anything different about the page(s) which are not displaying? i.e. published state, parent-child relationship etc.?
We use native WordPress functions to loop through all available pages. It would interesting to get to the bottom of this…
