Support » Plugin: Facebook Chat Plugin - Live Chat Plugin for WordPress » Chat Plugin not adding code to page

  • Hi,

I’ve added the plugin but the plugin doesn’t add the code that includes a div tag with the class attribute fb-customerchat to the source html of the page.

I’ve cleared the caches, disabled all plugins except for the FB Chat plugin, retested, and it still doesn’t add the Chat code to the source html.

    Currently running WP 5.7,

    Suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Hi @christopheran,

    I would recommend:
    – Upgrading to the latest version of the WordPress plugin.
    – If you’re using the “Custom pages” setting in “Advanced Configuration”, ensure that you’ve checked the boxes for the pages of your site on which you’d like the plugin to appear.
    – Check that the settings have been saved to your WP database properly. If the button on the “Getting Started?” card still reads “Setup Chat plugin”, then that is an indication that no settings have yet been saved.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi FB Team,

I am still getting the ‘Setup Chat Plugin’ on the ‘Getting Started?’ card, even after going through the steps and hitting the ‘publish’ button and getting a message that says “you’re changes have been published”.

What would cause it not to save in the database? I have other plugins installed that use the database without any issues,

    Hi @christopheran,

We’re looking into the possible causes of this, though it is a little difficult to diagnose, as we’re unable to reproduce it.

Do you have access to the database that your WordPress installation runs on?

    Thanks,

Yep, what can I do for you?

Or if you need admin access to investigate, you can drop me a note at chris@andrews.com
