Thanks for confirming.
Just want to check – are you sure you’ve provided the right URL here for the WordPress installation into which you’re trying to install it? It looks like a holding page, and it doesn’t seem to have the plugin code at all…

Hi @unanswered,
To answer your question 3) – you can now control the positioning of the button as part of the setup process (step 2 of the setup flow). You can also control whether the plugin starts in the minimised or expanded state, if you feel it’s taking up too much space.
It’s not presently possible to change the size of the icon, nor selectively deploy on different platforms. You would need to set up your own CSS rules if you wanted something like this.

In reply to: [Facebook Chat Plugin - Live Chat Plugin for WordPress] Needs more featuresHi @unanswered,
I’ve responded in more detail to your question in the support forum – but just to reiterate here – we’ve added a number of features over the past few months, including:
– The ability to set the chat plugin to launch in “minimised” state (this was a hot ask here!).
– Additional configuration features enabling control over the positioning of the plugin on the page.
…and more!We have more on the way in v2.1 of the plugin, which is currently in development.
Perhaps you could share your thoughts as to what kind of features you’ve been missing from the plugin?
Thanks!

Hi @unanswered,
Thanks for your question! Issues raised in reviews and in feedback on this support forum are tracked daily, and fixed regularly in our ongoing versioned updates to the product.
For example, for v2.0 of the plugin, which was released in early January, we fixed a number of issues such as:
– CSS conflicts with the WordPress core theme.
– Issue with invisible iframe filling the browser space and affecting the ability to interact with other items on the page.
– Admin dashboard glitches.
…and more! We’ve also added the following features, in response to user feedback:
– The ability to set the chat plugin to launch in “minimised” state (this was a hot ask here!).
– Additional configuration features enabling control over the positioning of the plugin on the page. We’re pleased with the community’s response to the plugin’s ongoing development. Since the release of v2.0 of the plugin, the plugin has enjoyed quite a series of positive (5*) reviews (…in fact, as far as I can see, the only 1* review received lately has been from yourself 😉 ).
If you’d like to provide us with some feedback as to what you found lacking about the plugin, we’d be eager to hear it.
There’s still more to do, and we’re feverishly at work on v2.1 as we speak – which is set to contain even more fixes and improvements! In the meantime, we continue to monitor this and other forums, to understand how we can best serve our community of Chat plugin users.
Appreciate your feedback,
Facebook Team

In reply to: [Facebook Chat Plugin - Live Chat Plugin for WordPress] WordPress compatibilyHi @lkafrazier,
That’s correct – you will need to hold an administrator role on a the Facebook Page you wish to connect the plugin to. Have you set up a Facebook Page already?

Hi @lkafrazier,
That’s strange. I’ve had a look at the source of your website, but it doesn’t seem like the code has been deployed on there. Can I ask you to go through the setup process one more time?
Thanks,

In reply to: [Facebook Chat Plugin - Live Chat Plugin for WordPress] WordPress compatibilyHi @pier31,
Yes, can confirm the Chat plugin is fully compatible with WordPress 5.6.2 🙂

Are you looking at the Page Inbox?
Are you sure that it’s the same Page for which you configured the Chat plugin?
Are you using any third-party message providers (eg. bots, etc.).
Thanks,

Thanks for confirming. We can repro this and are looking into it. Updates to follow…

Hi @whdmiran,
The difference here was actually logged in vs. logged out – and not related to desktop/mobile. In any case, thanks for raising this issue – we’ve fixed it now, and the translated greeting shows regardless of the login state of the user.

I’ve had a look at your website, and the Chat plugin appears to be loading fine for me.
I’ll mark this as resolved, but do let us know if yo’re still encountering any issues.

In reply to: [Facebook Chat Plugin - Live Chat Plugin for WordPress] Message did not sendHi @bwdteam,
If you’re installing via the WordPress plugin, the installation is codeless – the code is deployed automatically by the plugin, and you don’t need to copy and paste anything. When I checked your page before, the code was already installed correctly.
In any case, as the plugin appears to be functioning correctly for you now, I’ll mark this as resolved.
All the best,

In reply to: [Facebook Chat Plugin - Live Chat Plugin for WordPress] Message did not sendHi @bwdteam,
Sorry to hear you’re encountering this issue. Can I confirm whether you’re using the standard Page Inbox to handle incoming messages, or a custom third-party platform app solution?
Thanks,

Hi @jamesradcliffe,
I can see the plugin loading fine on your site when I view it in Google Chrome – on both Mac and PC. However, I did observe that on one particular occasion it did not load, and it seems the scripts did not fire correctly.
You have a LOT of scripts firing on your web page. I’m not sure what they are all for, but if any of these scripts fails, conflicts, or creates a race-condition with another script, it could well cause the plugin to fail to load. I would definitely recommend reviewing the scripts being used on this site, and slimming them down where possible.
To comprehensively debug, I would recommend removing the other scripts to start with, checking that the plugin loads correctly, and then adding back the scripts one-by-one to determine which (if any) are prone to cause conflicts/issues.
Additionally, it seems you’re using version 1.8 of the plugin. I would also recommend upgrading to the latest version (2.0).
Hope this helps!
