In reply to: Text Box in Admin to modify main WP page?Yes a static insert is exactly what I want. I would also like to have some posts below the static insert as well. Basically I want to liven up the main page with pictures and html code. Nothing totally complex, but the standard WP maing page is a little bland for me in this case. So if I could insert some static text and also have like 5 posts below that or something that would exactly what I would be looking for:)

In reply to: Text Box in Admin to modify main WP page?Anything? I guess its not a big deal using the Presentation > Theme Editor. Just thought that having a simple edit box just for the main content section of the front page would be somewhat easily doable.

In reply to: Text Box in Admin to modify main WP page?I know that I can edit it those ways. But I didn’t know if there was something out there that would give my client just a simple text box under say “Manage” then “Main Page”. There could be a text box that they could use to manage the main page. I’m afraid that they might delete some necessary code like the wp_get_header or something like that and screw their blog up. So if they just had a simple admin box that would just allow them to change the contents on the index.php page that would be wonderful.

In reply to: Level7Gaming site launched, what do you think? You do have a 404 error I saw for the “et-cetera” page. the logo itself could use some work too. but i like the colors and flow:)

In reply to: Here’s my new site – Link Bannersi agree with NO POPUPS, very annoying. also the site should pull me in. borderline dull, definately need a catchy logo and the “branding” idea is great. the “Use Link Banners to:” section could be a bit more eye catchy too. those are your selling points aren’t they? then they should stand out more:)

In reply to: Question about the Excerpt tagWonderful fellas! Thanks again:) Yeah a plugin might be a bit more than what I need and the “<?php if(!empty($post->post_excerpt)) the_excerpt(); ?>” works great!

In reply to: free/open source shopping cart program neededI personally use the ShoppingQ software built by Bitwise. Its not free but pretty reasonable and extremely fast. You can go to http://www.ShoppingQ.com for more information. I am a reseller and could get you a good price on a license as well as hosting too if anyone needs it. If not no biggie:)

In reply to: Ordering PostsI am sure there has to be a plugin out there that you could use for this. I’m not adept in building my own, but I am sure someone has something that you could use. Otherwise couldn’t you just hide the code that displays the date and then edit the timestamp to get the results you were looking for? But since you wrote your own code that works then you wouldn’t need to remove any of the code. That’s probably how I would have done it, since I’m more of a designer than a programmer.

In reply to: Ordering PostsI would like to think that you could just edit the Time Stamp on this and that would make the change of the order. I could be wrong though and probably am 😉
