Hi there @tingea,
Check the From address for your connection. It looks like it may be set incorrectly. Most SMTP connections require your From address to match the address of the account you’re connecting to, so if you’re connecting with me@example.com, your From address will also need to be me@example.com.
If you need flexibility about what your From email can be, check out our other mailer connections. Some mailer services allow this to be changed. Check out this guide in our documentation. It walks through each mailer we support and includes the benefits of each: https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/a-complete-guide-to-wp-mail-smtp-mailers/
I hope that helps! Have a great day!
Hi there @aetekno,
There are a couple of ways to address this. The first is to check your Site Heath page in WordPress by going to Tools > Site Health. There should be an option to repair the database tables.
Otherwise, you’ll need to reinstall the plugin. To do this, first go to WP Mail SMTP > Settings > Misc. From there, make sure the Uninstall WP Mail SMTP option is checked. This will remove all WP Mail SMTP data when you deactivate the plugin, giving you a clean slate to start the installation over.
You can then set up the plugin again. If the problem occurs again, there may be a conflict on the site that is preventing the database tables from being written.
I hope that helps! Have a great day!
Hi there @kimabaghdasaryan,
Zoho is sending back an error message regarding your connection:
2024-01-31 03:36:27 SMTP ERROR: Password command failed: 535 Authentication Failed
Zoho is saying that the password is incorrect. Like other mail providers, to connect to Zoho using and SMTP connection, you’ll need to use an App Password connected to your account. Take a look at this guide on our site. It provides information on how to set up the connection to Zoho:
https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-set-up-the-other-smtp-mailer-in-wp-mail-smtp/#zoho-mail
Additionally, it looks like Easy WP SMTP is also enabled, which can conflict with WP Mail SMTP. We high recommend deactivating it while running WP Mail SMTP.
I hope that helps! Have a great day!
Hi there @flatword,
To connect the lite version of WP Mail SMTP to Gmail, you will need either the Gmail App password or their connection details from their Google Console. These are the only ways to reach Google via the lite plugin.
Gmail Mailer – https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-set-up-the-gmail-mailer-in-wp-mail-smtp/
Other SMTP Mailer – https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-set-up-the-other-smtp-mailer-in-wp-mail-smtp/#gmail
Regarding the second question, the answer would be the same if that domain receives its email to a Gmail account. So if that domain uses Google Workspace, you would need to connect the lite version of our plugin through one of the methods mentioned above. Running the connection through your Gmail account can affect your own Google account.
However, if their domain connects to another mail provider, and that provider gives access to an SMTP server, you can use the Other SMTP mailer to connect to the account. You would need the details from the mail provider.
I hope this helps! Have a great day!

Hi there @msdesignfoto,
It does indeed sound like something on your site is triggering these emails. If WP Mail SMTP is not connected to your mailer service, the emails being created won’t be able to go out. They are likely still trying though, but without a valid connection, they aren’t getting anywhere.
You mentioned that malware could be the cause. This is very possible. A lot of malware is designed to send spam emails, so it’s possible that this is what’s happening on your site. The Wordfence scan may come up with the cause but if not, you may need to go through additional troubleshooting.
You could also try disabling the other plugins on your site to see if the issue stops. If it does, it means the problem is coming from a plugin. If the problem continues, switch your theme and see if it stops. If it does, it’s the theme. If none of that stops the emails, something may have infected WordPress core files, in which case you may need to reinstall the WordPress core files or restore from a backup.
I hope that helps! Have a great day and good luck. Hopefully Wordfence can route out the cause!

Hi there @jerry0000,
That table is part of the WP Mail Logging plugin. You should be able to configure the log rotation in the WP Mail Logging to start purging old emails. That should help reduce the size of that table.
I hope that helps! Have a great day!
Hi there @powebdesign,
Thanks for the response. I checked in with our development team about this. We are passing a punycode-encoded value to the SendGrid API. This issue may be on their side of things. Try reaching out to SendGrid’s support team about the issue so they can take a look.
I hope that helps! Have a great day! 🙂

In reply to: [WP Mail Logging] Admin user not in SettingsHi there @bryan202,
The list you are seeing is the list of WordPress capabilities that can be assigned to a user role. Different roles, including roles created by other plugins, can be assigned specific capabilities. In the case of the Administrator, they should be able to see everything about the plugin by default as they have full control over the site.
I hope that helps! Have a great day!

Hi there @chz0000,
Thanks for reaching out. The Lite version of our plugin does not have the feature to store copies of emails, so those messages may be lost. However, you can check with your mailer service to see if they may have logged any useful information about the emails. Even though they failed, the mailer may have logged some identifiable information that could help.
I hope that helps! Have a great day!
Hi there @geoffreywang,
I responded to your other thread asking this question. If you have any questions, please respond on that thread. That should help us keep up with the responses.
