In reply to: Comment Spam StuffYes, I had read that yesterday, and I was really excited until I read the update about page-rank persisting across redirects.
The development team has been discussing how to handle comment spam, and we have some ideas that we’ll be fleshing out soon.Forum: Fixing WordPress

In reply to: Having Trouble Upgrading from .7You could re-install all the version 0.71 files, and get it reconfigured and running again, then do your upgrade. Or you could even just get a copy of the b2config.php file from version 0.71, re-edit it to match your old settings, and then run the 0.72 upgrade process.

In reply to: Failed upgrade to .72..warning & fatal error. Are you absolutely positive that there is a file called ‘wp-config.php’ in your public_html directory? The error you pasted above indicates that the upgrade script couldn’t find that file.

In reply to: upload feature bug?I’ve successfully tested image uploads on my server.
The notes about the move_uploaded_file() function mention that the open_basedir directive in your php.ini configuration file can affect how things work. If that directive is in use on your server, it could be what’s causing the file move to fail.
I’ve just commited a patch to CVS that should work around that particular situation.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Using w. bloggar with WordPress blogI’m going to have to set up some more comprehensive tests to see what NewzCrawler is sending out. It seems to be posting articles in draft mode, then making a call to mt.setPostCategories, but I’m not sure what’s happening after that.

In reply to: Installation errorThe only mysql user privs you should need are Select_priv, Insert_priv, Update_priv, Delete_priv, and Create_priv.
I would double-check your $abspath and $b2inc values… You might want to consider starting with the 0.72 release candidate. It has a friendlier initial setup.Forum: Themes and Templates

In reply to: Link validationblockquote is like div. You can put p’s inside a blockquote, but not vice-versa. So for multi-paragraph quotes, just do [blockquote][p]blah blah[/p][p]more blah[/p][/blockquote].
Also, I just tested, and in the current 0.72RC1 code, when you put a link into the link manager, it automagically encodes any ampersands in the URL. So, you shouldn’t have to do anything special when you add links.Forum: Plugins
