sorry one more thing. I have not been getting any errors messages to let me know they were not published as scheduled. I read some people say that I can go to quick edit and publish but when I go to quick edit there is no option to publish from there.

Also is there a way to override the schedule and manually publish a post after scheduling it? Right now I am copying the posts into a new post and publishing right away. But for those posts that didn’t publish on the time they were supposed to can I somehow go to edit and choose publish? I am not seeing any publish button available on posts I had set up with a scheduled date/time to publish. Looking for a bandaid to be able to quickly publish the missed posts until I can fix the problem.

no bc I thought it’d be in their best interest not to help transfer emails as I wouldn’t use their service any longer so was looking for a way to do it myself. As a last resort I will if no one here knows how

By the way this is the plugin I installed Easy Facebook Share Thumbnail
I did upload an image and set it to be default for any post that doesn’t have an image as well as default for the homepage. When I go to plugin settings it says it’s set up that way but still when posting my homepage to Facebook it displays no image.

I found out it was an issue with the theme I was using. As soon as I switched themes everything worked as it should

Here’s the theme I’m using which I got from WordPress – I’m not brave enough to use non-wordpress themes 😉

    Fresh Ink Magazine

    Version 1.08

One other question. When I look at how my post pictures are typed it’s like this because it’s grabbing them from my wordpress media library:
    http://www.crazy4subscriptionboxes.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/googaro-box.jpg

In this case would I enter that whole thing as the “thepictureiwannause.png” part or just copy googaro-box.jpg in the command line you provided? And is jpg ok or does it have to be png?

If I do that in the header template it will then display to same picture regardless of my post. I’d like to set the image displayed at the post level so each time I post to Facebook it will display a picture relevant to that post. Is that possible?

Also in youR example above do I type it exactly as you have it only replacing the image name where you typed “thepictureiwannause”? Or where it says Og:image do I need to put the image name there too?

I’m also not sure where exactly to place this command line. I see the word head throughout my header php file., so between what two references of <head>? I do see another meta tag in this file, I suppose I could insert this line right above it? Here is the meta tag I currently see in my header php and where I’m thinking of inserting the command line you provided. would that work?

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" <?php language_attributes(); ?>>
    <head profile="http://gmpg.org/xfn/11">
INSERT META TAG FOR PHOTO HERE?
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="<?php bloginfo('html_type'); ?>; charset=<?php bloginfo('charset'); ?>" />
    <title><?php wp_title('«', true, 'right'); ?> <?php bloginfo('name'); ?></title>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_url'); ?>" type="text/css" media="screen" />

Interestingly when I delete the custom giveaway menu I just created and save my change all 4 header links reappear at the top of my blog (but with the broken giveaways link as before)

    Thread Starter crazy4subscriptionboxes

    (@crazy4subscriptionboxes)

When I go to appearance -> menu all the items on the left are “grayed out” and I see what I posted below on the right side of that screen. So what I did was create a menu titled giveaways and moved the category of giveaways to it as instructed in your last post. This worked perfectly! Just one problem I also need header links for About Me, Contact me and Partner Requests. When I followed the procedure I just described only the giveaways header link shows up. When I am on appearance -> menu I do notice I have the ability to create multiple tabs in the section I just created the custom giveaway menu in. So I followed the same procedure creating a tab for the other 3 header links I want and adding the associated pages to them. When I saved this the only header link to appear is the giveaways link I created earlier. So I am trying to duplicate what I did with the giveaways header link for the other 3 but can’t seem to make them appear at the top of my blog. Hope I am describing this well.

    +
    Menu Name

To create a custom menu, give it a name above and click Create Menu. Then choose items like pages, categories or custom links from the left column to add to this menu.

After you have added your items, drag and drop to put them in the order you want. You can also click each item to reveal additional configuration options.

When you have finished building your custom menu, make sure you click the Save Menu button.

I am trying the 2nd method you indicate but the link doesn’t actually tell how. Here is what the link says about adding category posts to a menu:

“Categories can also be added to the menu. Three tabs, Most Recent, View All, and Search, determines what categories are displayed for selection as a menu item. The list of categories to select from do not display with any hierarchy, though that may be subject to change in future versions of WordPress. The Checkbox, Select All, and Add to Menu options, describe in the Posts section, are also displayed in this module.”

I looked in the posts section hyperinked in above paste and that didn’t say either. All my giveaways have the category of giveaways. Just trying to find out how to set up a menu to pull all these into the page when someone click the header link.

    Suggestions?

I already read that and it was all pretty greeek to me.

The Finding your Feed URL section doesn’t actual instruct on how to find it but says the following are my choices. I tried these all on mailchimp but mailchimp said all are invalid. I obviously replaced example with my site name. Tried these:

    http://example.com/?feed=rss
    http://example.com/?feed=rss2
    http://example.com/feed/
    http://example.com/feed/rss/

I also searched my theme footer for bloginfo() as listed in the link you sent but didn’t see any type of url right after it to tell me the RSS url

by the way I am using Jetpack 2.3.1. after Googling this I found quite a lot of people posting this same error message as various time the past 12 months but so far haven’t received any resolution just a lot of posts looking for an answer. Hope someone on here know. I also reached out to Jetpack support.

jp4477 I am having the same error now and did reach out to Jetpack support. While I wait was wondering if you received a fix for your issue?

    Thread Starter crazy4subscriptionboxes

    (@crazy4subscriptionboxes)

ok seems it all stems from old themes.. I tried many just now and each had same issue. I wish you would delete these themes as newer options aren’t supported. Guess I wont be changing my theme anytime soon. Fond 5 I liked and ALL five wouldn’t support headers which seems to me to be a basic feature. I’m back to my old theme and staying there until I find another blog platform I like I guess. Bummed. Thanks for all your help
