Hi @prowo24, that’s great to hear! I’m glad it’s working for you.
If you are happy with our free plugin and support, please make us happy and take 30 seconds to leave a review. 🙂 We’d really appreciate that.
Hi @drzivil,
I’m sorry you’re experiencing this issue.
Could you ask your host whether an especially low wait_timeout value is being used? Or else ask them why a long-running script might be having trouble accessing the database. That’d be the first thing I suggest.
See this page for more information on the error you’re getting: https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/gone-away.html
If that doesn’t work, please email us a full debug backup log to support [at] backwpup.com so we can take a better look.

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] Inc/class-file.php bugHi @fireflywebs, actually this looks like a bug in how BackWPup tries to write Web.config. We’ll make sure this is fixed in the next version.

In reply to: [Search & Replace] search and replaceWhat exact string are you searching for? It should just be the http://xxxxxxx.com part, not the serialized data.
Very glad it’s working for you. Please let us know if you need anything else. 🙂

In reply to: [Search & Replace] search and replaceHi @porterouge,
Sorry, that’s not how it works. Malware can exist on a site regardless of whether https is used or not. You’ll have to remove the malware. Your host might be able to help with that.

In reply to: [BackWPup – WordPress Backup & Restore Plugin] not backing up… please helpHi @vizcano, for the current errors you are getting, could you generate a debug log and send it to support [at] backwpup.com? That’ll give us more metadata to try to figure this out. Please just attach the log to the email.
To generate a debug log, first switch logging level to Debug (not translated), under BackWPup > Settings > Logs. Then run your job as normal. Download the log file and send it to us.
Thanks so much for your cooperation and patience.
We don’t have an exact date, but within the next few weeks we are expecting.
Hi @lillis, I cannot see why this might be happening for you.
There are some major changes with this functionality in the upcoming 3.4.0. If you like, you can wait for that version to come out.
If you prefer, I can help you debug, but will need wp-admin and FTP access. If you would like to take this option, please send an email to support [at] backwpup.com with this information.
This is fixed in the next release, so I am going to mark this topic as resolved. Please let us know if you need anything else.
@prowo24, was our response helpful? If so, could you please mark the ticket as resolved? Otherwise we are glad to help! 🙂
I’m glad it’s working again. Probably just some temporary issue with S3. Please let us know if it happens again. 🙂
Hi @dylbot, sorry you will need PHP 5.4 to run the plugin. I recommend switching to a host that has PHP 5.4 or later. Most of them do at this point.
