In reply to: [Prevent Direct Access - Protect WordPress Files] Show videos in lightboxHi @deimos1988,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
To assist you better, may we know which lightbox plugin you’re using?
Have you tried to embed our shortcode into the lightbox content?

Hi @alexaung,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
Actually, you can upload any files from your local/desktop directly to S3/Wasabi server. Once uploaded, you can use CloudFront CDN as usual.
How do WP Engine generate image thumbnail on your website? Do you have to upload them to WordPress Media library first?

Hi @baymarketingco,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
Are you keeping this line on your wp-config.php?

Hi @psudan,
Thanks again for your feedback.
The latest version our plugin supports displaying the chosen directory under your bucket by default as per this screenshot.

Please let us know if it works for you.
Hello @psudan,
Hope you’re doing great.
Thank you so much for your compliment. It means a lot to us.
In order for Editor roles to see & use “Upload to S3” page, they’ll need to have
manage_optionscapability.In the upcoming version, we will provide you with an option where you can define that custom capability yourself. It will looks like this:
define('SSU_CAPABILITY', 'custom_capability');Please let us know if it makes sense to you, Phil.
Glad you got it resolved.
Thank you for your update as well, @ursecretweapon. We really appreciate it.
By the way, if you’re happy with our plugin, can you leave us a kind review on WordPress, please?
Hello Carolyn,

In reply to: [Prevent Direct Access - Protect WordPress Files] No other functions shownHello @luyennv,
When your mp4 file is protected, its file URL is changed for performance purposes. That’s probably why the file can’t be displayed on your website.
Can we follow up on the support email that we sent you a few days ago?
Hi @kmkittre,
Our plugin is best used under WordPress Media Library, List view.
To assist you better, can you please drop us an email to hello(at)preventdirectaccess.com with your current htaccess rules so that we can help you accordingly?
We look forward to your email.
Hi Mike,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
I think you confuse our protected links and private download links.
Our private links are accessible to anyone although you can auto-expire it by time or clicks.
Protected links are accessible only to those with permission.
Please let us know if it’s clearer and makes sense to you, @mycloc.

Hi Dee,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
Yes, you can protect and restrict access to your book under uploads folder with our plugins:
– By default, our Prevent Direct Access (PDA) Gold protects your media files under WordPress Media Library only.
– You will need to use Folder Protection feature provided by our Access Restriction – an addon of our PDA Gold.
In short, you will need both our main plugin – PDA Gold and the extension to achieve what you want.
Please let us know if that makes sense to you, Dee.
Hi @rosakick,
Thanks for letting us know. There should be an option to “Configure file protection” for each media file under WordPress Media library, List view.
The UI of the Free version is identical to the Gold version’s.
If it doesn’t show up, can you please send us a screenshot of your Media Library under list view?

In reply to: [Prevent Direct Access - Protect WordPress Files] Simple and UsefulHi @pradeepphule,
Thanks for the follow-up.
Yes, you can surely protect PDF files from being direct access with our Free version.
In case you want to display the PDF on your website but prevent users from downloading the file, you should take a look at our Watermark WordPress Files plugin instead.
That feature is out of our Prevent Direct Access plugin’s scope. Even our Gold version doesn’t support that.
Please let us know if it makes sense to you, @pradeepphule.
