This is a common problem on all sites with user-generated content, and we fight with the same issues you do regarding spam. It sounds like you have done the standard things, like requiring registration on BD. Have you also set up the reCAPTCHA settings that come with it? You can add reCAPTCHA support for listing contact messages If not, that’s under Directory > Settings > General Settings > SPAM and is described in detail here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/general-tab/#recaptcha.

After doing the export, can you please try right-clicking on the download button to copy the link address and then paste that into a new window?

I couldn’t find that theme in the WordPress theme repository to try to reproduce the issue. However, there is a setting that may help.
Let’s try this and see if it helps. Go to Directory > Settings > General > Advanced then turn on this option: Disable Advanced CPT Integration?
Can you please try that and see if it works?

Thanks for following up here. Can you please check that your fee plan (even if it is free) allows images? That setting is under Directory > Directory Content > Plans.

Thanks for that information. Business Directory Plugin uses the default WordPress registration function. If you are using a membership-type plugin for users to register/login, please add the URL for those things in our settings.
You’ll find those settings under Directory > Settings > General > Registration — be sure to add both links to the registration and login pages there, even if the URLs are the same. That lets our plugin know there is something else controlling the registrations.

Thank you so much for getting in touch about the primary thumbnail.
When a user submits a listing, the images will show after uploading which one will be used as the thumbnail image. Users can rearrange their attachments to change the order when submitting a listing.

Thanks for your question! We’re not familiar with that plugin and we haven’t tested it with ours, so I’m wondering if their support team may be able to provide a better answer than we can. We do offer the ability to do template overrides, and it may be possible to include something like that in an override, but I can’t say for sure.
