In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] A few questionsHi @dvharrison
I’m glad to hear that you are considering AWP Classifieds for your project.
To keep things easy to read, I have provided answers to your questions inline below.
- We need a membership setup. Am I able to set up a membership for posters, jobseekers and both posters and job seekers? — Sure thing! AWP Classifieds uses the default WordPress registration function for creating accounts on your classifieds site, so you can use any membership plugin that works with the WordPress registration.
- Is it easy to vet posts for stop words (eg swear words) — Right now we don’t have this feature but there may be another plugin out there that will help with this. Our sister plugin, Business Directory Plugin, does have this feature. In case you want to check that out, you can download and try it here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/business-directory-plugin/
- I get the area, town etc but is there a radius option or an interactive map? — Right now we don’t have this feature but we are considering it for the future. I’ll add your vote for this!
- Are posters notified by email when their listing has gone live or been refused? — Yes, users should receive that email once they set up the listing and it has been approved (if you have the setting turned on for approval being required). I’d recommend trying a test listing as a non-admin user to see how that works!
- Can AWP Classifieds plugin integrate with MailChimp? Or is it easy to export to mailchimp or a spreadsheet? — We don’t have an integration with MailChimp, but we do have an export to CSV process. You can learn more about that in our Knowledge Base here: https://awpcp.com/knowledge-base/import-export/
- Is it easy to view daily statistics on how well the board is performing, eg new signups and posts, etc? — We don’t have a dashboard for this, so you’ll have to track these things manually. You can consider a service or plugin that’s specifically designed for tracking this kind of data. However, Business Directory Plugin does have something like this so I’d recommend checking it out!
Hey @yaelduckwen
I haven’t heard back from you on this so I’m going to go ahead and mark this as resolved. Please reach out via email if you’re still having an issue here!
~Bobbie
Hi @yaelduckwen
Thanks for trying that. I’m using TwentyTwentyThree on the test site and it’s still not allowing me to add images.
If you have ruled out a conflict with other plugins, we would like to troubleshoot this issue with you further.
Please contact us with a link to this forum thread here: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/contact/
Hi @yaelduckwen
Thank you for your kind words about our plugin – I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
I tried to reproduce this issue on a test site, but could not. I always get a message that either there are no image slots available or if there is no fee plan chosen, it requires me to choose one before adding images.
What WordPress theme are you using? I’d like to try to reproduce the issue on our end. Also, had you confirmed the fee plan by saving your choice of fee plan before adding the images? If you had chosen another plan that allowed images first, that may be the issue here.
Please let me know and we look forward to helping you get to the bottom of this.

In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] Calendar for bookingHi @ian585
Thanks for your question! We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our product. While the feature you’re suggesting is not currently available, we’ll consider it for inclusion in future updates.
There may be another plugin that would work with AWP Classifieds to do what you’re trying to achieve, but we haven’t tested any specific plugin for this functionality.
Hi @azure11
Thanks for your comment here. Can you please read the response I left above and test that for your site? If you want to open a new thread, I believe you can leave your site details privately. Alternatively, you can contact us directly to share that information here: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/contact/

Hi @wilsdorf17
Thank you for reaching out about this. We truly appreciate hearing from you and are happy to be able to assist you today. I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with this!
I just went to your website using Chrome and see all of the fields. I think this may be related to whether you are logged in or not. When a logged-in user is on your site, they will not see the Name and Email address fields because they are connected to the user account. Can you please verify that?
Hi @iconweekly
I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with this! We appreciate you pointing out the issue on the demo site — that’s now fixed!
This may be an interaction between your theme and Business Directory Plugin. Let’s try this and see if it helps. Go to Directory > Settings > General > Advanced then turn on this option: Disable Advanced CPT Integration?
See if that fixes the listing title issue for you. For the font size, that may be a setting in your WordPress theme. If you’d like us to take a closer look at that, please contact us with a link to this forum thread here: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/contact/

In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] New Ads, All CapsHey @rjpivonka
Thank you for reaching out about this problem. I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with the font on your site.
This sounds like either a theme setting or a conflict. Does your theme allow you to choose the font for your listings? That looks like a premium theme that we don’t have access to, but you could test this out with a conflict test.
Theme and plugin conflicts are very common in WordPress, and a conflict test is used to help determine the cause of the issue. Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with AWP Classifieds, which may help pinpoint the issue: https://awpcp.com/knowledge-base/how-to-check-for-conflicts/
Before doing a conflict test, it is a best practice to take a backup of your site before beginning or to do the test on a staging site, in case any settings are changed during the process.
Please try that and let me know what you find.
Hi @oxen130
Thanks for getting back to me on this and for considering that suggestion.
When I add a full email address to the Disallowed Comment Keys section in WordPress, then try to send an email to a listing on my test site, it blocks the message as spam. Here is how they are listed in the settings on my site:
Have you entered the full email address in that section? It sounds like you tried this, so I’m not sure why it wouldn’t work for you. Here is what I see:
Hey @oxen130
Thank you for being so patient on this. I think you can block this user by requiring registration to use the contact form and then deleting/blocking the user from registering on your site.
That setting is under Directory > Settings > Listings > Contact Form and it’s called Require login for using the contact form.
You should then delete that user and then look for a plugin that will block that IP address from registering on your site again or one that will require admin approval of new users.
Can you please try that and see if that works for you?
Hi @oxen130
Thanks for getting back to me on this and for trying those things. I’ll definitely add this for the developer to look into and repair if possible. I’m really sorry this is happening on your site.
