Hi @sakiflo
Let’s try this and see if it helps. Please go to Directory > Settings > General > Advanced then turn on this option: Disable Advanced CPT Integration?
Also, please let me know which WordPress theme you are using on your site and whether that works.
I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with this! I haven’t had other reports of this, so we may need to do some testing on your site. Usually, the issue we hear most frequently is that emails are not being sent!
We have an article in our Knowledge Base that may help you troubleshoot this further — it sounds like it may be a hosting issue to me, and I would recommend contacting your new hosting company for troubleshooting as well: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/understanding-and-fixing-email-problems/
If that’s not helpful, can you try setting this up on a staging site and then performing a conflict test to see if that may help pinpoint the issue?
Please try those things and let me know how it goes.

Thanks for your question! We don’t have a way to do this in the plugin right now, but that definitely sounds like it could be a cool enhancement! I’ll add your vote for this feature request for a future version! We appreciate you!
Hi @dillipg
Apologies for answering this question in the wrong thread! My original answer was posted in another discussion you opened here and is pasted below for future reference or anyone with this same question.
Are you wanting to allow users of listings to edit their own listings, or are you wanting to give one person the ability to edit the listings of other people?
When a user creates a listing, they will be able to edit their own listing. You can provide a page for users to log into your site by using the [businessdirectory-manage-listings] shortcode.
If you want someone on your team to be able to edit the listings of others, you can change their WordPress role to Editor under Users > All Users by editing their profile. I would recommend not giving everyone that access, though.
Hi @dillipg
Thanks for getting back to me on this. I have verified with our QA team that the listing author field is controlled by WordPress and is not something that can be displayed in the listing. The only way to add this information is with regular form fields and those can be edited by the listing owner.
I’m sorry we weren’t able to come up with a solution for this.
Hi @charbel4
Thanks so much for your question. For layout-based changes, you can override templates in the plugin. This is something that requires advanced developer skills to pull off, but if you are interested in trying, the documentation for that is here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/general-customization-guide/
Hi @dillipg
Thank you for clarifying that — the screenshot helped a lot.
The author field uses the WordPress username information and is not designed to be displayed on the front-end of the listing because sometimes it is not a proper name (some users use nicknames or non-professional names when they create an account).
So, if you want a person’s name, be they a contact person or listing owner, you would need to create a field especially for displaying in the listing. If you create a new field for that, the Field Display options should allow you to display the information, just as they do for the phone number.
I hope that helps clarify and answers your question.
I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with this! We haven’t been able to reproduce this issue on a test site.
Do you have more than one shortcode on that page? And do you have the [businessdirectory] shortcode on a different, published page on your site?
This could be a conflict with another plugin.
Theme and plugin conflicts are very common in WordPress, and a conflict test is used to help determine the cause of the issue. Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with Business Directory, which may help pinpoint the issue: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/how-to-check-for-plugin-and-theme-conflicts-with-bd/
Before doing a conflict test, it is a best practice to take a backup of your site before beginning or to do the test on a staging site, in case any settings are changed during the process.
Please try that and let me know what you find.
Hi @dillipg
Thanks for getting back to me on this. Sure thing!
Each field has a setting for where the information should be displayed. You can find the settings for each field under Directory > Directory Content > Form Fields.
The setting is under the Field Display options and you can set the field to show in the listing excerpt, in the listing view, in both, or in neither.
You can learn more about the form fields in our Knowledge Base here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/manage-form-fields/#form-field-settings-and-what-they-mean

Hey @corybolles and @harryfp This release has now gone out and should address the issue. Thanks for the reporting!!
Hey @corybolles and @harryfp
Thank you for being so patient on this. We’ve identified a fix for this. Can you please contact support directly for the steps to address this? We will get a release out as quickly as possible to address the issue, but it is possible to address with some minor adjustments to the plugin.
Please contact us with a link to this forum thread http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/contact/
Hi @corybolles
Thanks for sharing that log error — let me get a developer to take a look here and I’ll let you know what they say. Have you tried a conflict test in the meantime?
Hi @ggoodencasa
Thanks for your question! Yes, you can absolutely do this!
You can learn more about that in our Knowledge Base here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/how-do-i-add-category-specific-fields/
That should help!
Thanks for sharing your solution here @amhoffmaster !
