In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] Listing Not FoundHi @sant009m
I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with this!
One thing that might help quickly would be to reset your Permalinks. In WordPress, go to Settings > Permalinks, then press save changes (don’t make any changes) and see if that helps.
Please let me know.

In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] Problems with changing namesHi @gwoman
I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with this!
It’s always advisable to double-check the steps because it’s easy to miss one. What string are you trying to change? We would like to troubleshoot this issue with you further.
Please contact us with a link to this forum thread here: https://awpcp.com/contact/
Hi @jbudda408
Thanks for following up here. Can you please send me the logs from the query monitor plugin so we can take a look?
Please let me know.
Hi @reneyoung
We do have a column layout as part of our packages and you can learn about how to use that here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/appearance-tab/#Listings_layout. Aside from that, if you have good developer skills, we have a hook you can use for that here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/wpbd_column_count/
I hope that helps.

In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] Problems with changing namesHi @gwoman
Thank you for reaching out about this. `Any string or label in the application can be modified with a translation file to be whatever you want it to be.
Although a translation file is traditionally used to change the language of a plugin, it also will change ANY string or label in the plugin (For example, you can change the word “Search” to “Find”) We have full instructions on how to do that here: https://awpcp.com/knowledge-base/translate-awpcp-native-language-modify-labels-awpcp/
We do try to include as many translations as we can in the plugin, but we rely on native speakers to contribute those. If you are interested in being a contributor or a translator, please do let us know.
You can see our progress on translations on WordPress.org here: https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/another-wordpress-classifieds-plugin/
Hi @jbudda408
Thanks for getting back to me on this. Would you please install the Query Monitor plugin and let us know what the top slow queries are? If you are unable to decipher those results, you can get in touch with us and send along that information through our contact form: http://businessdirectoryplugin.com/contact/
Best,
~Bobbie
Hi @jbudda408
I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with this!
This plugin should not slow the performance of the site, but any new addition to the site could have an impact. Adding ANY code to a site, whether it’s our plugin or not, can have an impact. The performance of a site is based MORE on the hosting hardware, and the other plugins you may have installed.
The best practice would be to DEACTIVATE and DELETE any plugins you’re not using at all. And any plugins that aren’t critical to the site should also be removed. Too many plugins can cause issues, as can conflicts. A conflict test may determine if a single plugin is causing speed issues. Or you can try using something like PageSpeed or YSlow. We have instructions for that here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/how-to-check-for-plugin-and-theme-conflicts-with-bd/
Please try that and let me know if you run into more issues.
Thank you for reaching out about this.
We don’t have a setting in the plugin for this, but you may be able to do it with some sort of tag cloud generator plugin that works with custom post types, which is what Business Directory Plugin is.
I hope that helps. Good luck!

In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] Layout Modification Help@bguth3 Thanks for the question. Right now there is no setting for this. It may be possible with some advanced developer skills, but it’s not something we can support at this time. We can consider it for future enhancements though!

In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] Advertised Listing do not appear AWPHi @nsohani
Thanks for your question. When I used the link you sent, I can see everything with no errors. Are you still having this issue? If not – it’s great that you were able to fix it!
If you are, this sounds like a cache issue possibly. We recommend clearing the server cache if you have one (which is found either in your hosting settings or on your plugin settings for things like WP Super Cache and W3TC if you have them installed), as well as your client browser cache.
The best way to get uncached data on your browser is to use a Private Browsing window or Incognito mode (depending on your browser). That ensures you’re seeing the latest, correct data.

In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] One time feeThanks for your question!
You can effectively do this by setting your fee plan to run a listing for, say, 1000 years.
You can also do this in our sister plugin, no problem! We have the option in the fee plans to “run listing forever”. You can learn more about that in our Knowledge Base here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/manage-fees/
I hope that helps!
Hi @palkat
This is a great suggestion! I’ve run it by the owners and we’ve added this to our enhancement request list. We appreciate you taking the time to make the suggestion, and I agree that this would be helpful.
Keep on thinking 🙂

In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] plugin not supportedHi @dhanyaatt
Thanks for your post. I did respond to your email as well, but right now AWP Classifieds doesn’t work on wordpress.com.
Sorry to have to give you that news! Please let me know if you have any other questions or issues!
Thanks for your question!
Right now, we don’t have a setting in the plugin for this, but you can change that with custom CSS. While all fonts, colors, and spacing can be changed using custom CSS, providing exact code here is beyond the scope of support we can offer. Here is an article about how to use custom CSS with Business Directory in a way that doesn’t get overwritten on an upgrade of BD: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/how-to-use-custom-styles-with-bd/
As for the widgets being responsive, they are, assuming that your WordPress theme is. Have you checked it on WordPress 2021 theme? Please let me know.
