In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] Memory exhausted error logHi @ski_k2
Thank you for reaching out about this. I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues and received this error!
The memory exhausted error is a common WordPress error, but not one we’ve seen reported recently. Were you updating the plugin when you received this error? What version of PHP are you using?
Please read this article for the fix, and consider contacting your hosting company to assist with increasing the memory on your site if it’s not helpful: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/fix-wordpress-memory-exhausted-error-increase-php-memory/
That should resolve the issue, but if it doesn’t work, we would like to troubleshoot this issue with you further. Please contact us with a link to this forum thread here: https://awpcp.com/contact/

In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] ad modificationI responded to your email as well.
You can set the user role for your employee to Editor in WordPress under Users in WordPress. Once you have done that, there is a setting you can change in the plugin to allow them access to some administrative functions. That setting is under Classified Ads > Settings > General > General Settings
I hope that helps!

I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with this! We appreciate you reporting the issue and I have been able to replicate the problem. I’ve added it to our bug list to fix for a future release. In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] Category paginationHi @afrikane
Thank you for reaching out about this. We’ve just discovered this issue in the plugin and are working on getting out a fix for the issue.
One workaround I would suggest is removing the Browse Ads button and creating a new button with a link to the following example URL: http://examplesite.com/classifieds/browse-ads/?results=30
Replace examplesite.com/classifieds with the name of your site and classifieds page and that should work. You can find the correct URL by going to your listings page and at the bottom of the page using the filter for 30 listings. The page it takes you to will have the correct URL to use.
Thank you for reaching out about this and for your patience while we get this addressed!
Hi @kiran11more
Thanks for getting back to me on this. That’s part of the Enhanced Categories module. Do you have that installed?
If so, please go to Directory > Settings > Listings > Sorting and enable: ABC filtering at the bottom.
I hope that helps. Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.
Hi @kiran11more
Thank you for reaching out about this. I can help you with this, no problem.
Can you check your settings under Directory > Settings > Listings > Categories and ensure the first option is checked? It’s called Show listings under categories on main page
That should get your listings to show properly.
The listings sorting settings are under Directory > Settings > Listings > Sorting.
If listings still aren’t displaying in the correct order, you can double-check under Directory > Directory Content > Listings to be sure that your listings have a fee plan and category assigned to them.
Please try that and let me know if you run into more issues.
Hey @palkat
Thanks for getting in touch!
At this time, you can only have one directory on your website with a single installation of the Business Directory plugin.
The best solution we have right now for having multiple directories is what is outlined in this article here, but it’s definitely something that requires advanced developer skills to pull off:
https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/multiple-instances-same-site/
We are actively planning to allow for this kind of behavior in a future release, but it’s not supported today, aside from this article.
Hi @grottocom
I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with this!
Can you please check under Directory > Directory Content > Plans if that fee plan is enabled? You can find this out in the far-right Attributes column where it will say enabled or disabled. If it’s disabled, you can hover over the plan name and enable it.
Please try that and let me know what you find.
Thank you for reaching out about this. I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with this!
Can you check to be sure that the other listings have a category and a fee plan assigned to them? You can see that under Directory > Directory Content > Listings.
If those look good, please try checking that your fee plans are enabled under Directory > Fees.
Those are the main things that would cause something like this. Please try that and let me know what you find.
Hey @cuckoofairweb
Glad that helped! The title size is bigger on the single listing page because there is only one listing displayed and it looks better.
Hey @cuckoofairweb
Thanks for trying that.
Can you please try adding the following code as the first line in your functions.php file?
add_filter(‘wpbdp_heading_type’, ‘__return_true’);
There is a plugin called WPCode that will do this automatically for you. Just download/install/activate that plugin and add the new snippet. Be sure to name the snippet and activate it!
This is a PHP snippet for reference, so you’ll need to select that snippet type.
Please try that and let me know if you run into more issues.
Hey @cuckoofairweb
You’re funny!! 🙂
This may be an interaction between your theme and Business Directory Plugin. Let’s try this and see if it helps. Go to Directory > Settings > General > Advanced then turn on this option: Disable Advanced CPT Integration?
Save your changes and see if that works. You may need to clear your cache if you don’t see a change right away. Try that and let me know if you run into more issues.
Hey @cuckoofairweb
Thanks so much for the update and for letting us know about this issue. We’ll definitely add this to our enhancement request list! We appreciate you informing us of what happened here. Cheers!

In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] Listing not displayingI’m glad that worked!
For shortcodes, they need brackets around them. Please try using [AWPCPLATESTLISTINGS] on that page and see if that makes a difference.

In reply to: [AWP Classifieds] Change plan on renewalHi @svenpeter
Thanks for getting back to me on this.
If you are using the free version of each plugin, there is no cost to trying this to see how it works. It takes only a few minutes to export your listings from the AWP Classifieds plugin. We have directions for exporting here: https://awpcp.com/knowledge-base/import-export/
You would then need to set up the directory to mirror your field names, so that might take some time, depending on your setup. You’d also need to set up the fee plans the way you want them and other directory settings. Since I don’t know your setup, making a specific recommendation is difficult, but that would be the general process.
Transferring the site with live ads might be a challenge, but if there were a point at which you could start new ads using the Directory plugin, that might work.
The solution we are discussing won’t be ready in the near future, as it’s just in the thinking stage.
Whichever decision you make, I wish you all the best!
