Hi,
It certainly could be that the emails were backed up and then started sending when the email started sending. The plugin can only generate mail but doesn’t have the ability to send it. You may have your host look into your mail and see if they can clear out any backlogged mail that may still be there.
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
Can you try disabling the features below to see if it helps?
Hackrepair Blacklist Feature
(Security> Settings> Banned Users)Filter Long URL Strings
(Security> Settings> System Tweaks)Filter Suspicious Query Strings in the URL
(Security> Settings> System Tweaks)Filter Non-English Characters
(Security> Settings> System Tweaks)You may also try enabling XML-RPC and allowing Full Access to the REST API.
(Security> Settings> WordPress Tweaks> XML-RPC)If disabling those does not help you can enable all Security features you wish to use and then disable them one at a time to determine the conflicting setting within Security.
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
> This was only enabled recently. And this was also the first time i received these emails.
Does this mean that you only started getting those emails once Elastic Email was installed? If so, you may try disabling that plugin to see if the issue continues? In the Notification Center, the only other module that will send Site Lockouts is the Security Digest and will send either daily or weekly. Can you please verify that the Site Lockout Notifications and Security Digest have been disabled?
Thanks,
Matt
Hi Victor,
Disabling the Default Blacklist is a great first step. If that does not resolve the issue you can try disabling the following one at a time to see which is the culprit.
Filter Long URL Strings
(Security> Settings> System Tweaks)Filter Suspicious Query Strings in the URL
(Security> Settings> System Tweaks)Filter Non-English Characters
(Security> Settings> System Tweaks)You may also try enabling XML-RPC and allowing Full Access to the REST API.
(Security> Settings> WordPress Tweaks> XML-RPC)Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
Can you try navigating to Security> Settings> WordPress Tweaks and change the REST API to default access to see if that helps?
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
That certainly is an iThemes lockout screen. If you go to Security> Logs and change the module to 404 detection do you see more than one attempt from that user/IP? That would shed some light on how many attempts were made to access that page.
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
Can you please navigate to Security> Settings> and see if Away Mode is enabled? That may be the setting causing you issues.
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
If you updated 6 plugins getting a lot of file changes is not necessarily surprising. It is possible that the plugin might have had a hiccup and sent the notification multiple times by mistake.
Are you still getting multiple emails a day, or did they stop after the initial day?
Do you recognize files being changed in the notifications?
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
Can you please disable the Default Blacklist under Security> Settings> Banned Users to see if it helps?
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
We have not had any specific reports of iframe having issues. However, if you do run into something the settings below are most typically the cause.
Filter Long URL Strings
Filter Suspicious Query Strings in the URL
Filter Non-English Characters
You may also try enabling XML-RPC and allowing Full Access to the REST API.
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
I do not believe that is being caused by iThemes Security. The email showing a large number of File Changes may lead you to the cause of the issue. If the file changes come from a plugin update or change that may be the cause. In that case, you can disable the plugin that had multiple file changes to see if that resolves the issue.
You may try checking for a plugin conflict as well. Deactivate all other plugins and see if that helps. If it does help, then reactivate the plugins one at a time to find the culprit(s), if any.
If that does not help you can check for a theme conflict by switching to a default WordPress theme.

You may also install the Health Check plugin to help determine the cause of the issue.

Hi,
A cURL 28 error means the specified time-out period was reached according to the conditions. If you check your logs do you have successful scans? If so, I wouldn’t worry about this. Unfortunately, this happens from time to time and is likely just a temporary connection issue.
If you are getting repeats of this message you will need to reach out to your host and have them determine why Sucuri’s Site Check is failing to scan your site. You may have your host whitelist the Sucuri IPs to see if that helps.

Hi,
Can you try toggling the PHP options at the bottom of System Tweaks to see if it helps to address the issue?
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
Thanks! Can you go to Security> Settings> Database Backup disable/reenable the module and then change the backup method to save locally and send the email?
If you run the database backup manually from the Database Backup module, does the file save/ get emailed?
Thanks,
Matt
Hi,
Will you please log out and then back into the site being sure to click the reCAPTCHA checkbox? This will help to validate the keys.
The above response is correct as well. If you are a Pro subscriber you can reach out directly to iThemes for support and it is always advised to keep your plugins up to date. The most current version of Security Pro is 6.3.2
Thanks,
Matt
