In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Google Translate WidgetAs I said earlier, I was getting mixed results and now all seems OK. I have been messing around deactivating one and the other and trying things.
At one point, it wasn’t working on Firefox regardless of which ones were active/inactive and yet it was working on Chrome.
I can only think it is somehting to do with cacheing but I was refreshin the pages so it is unclear.
at present it seems to be working with both active so I am a bit stymied. I will monitor it for a while and see how things go.
Many thanks for the help

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Google Translate WidgetSorry, I thought that I’d replied to this but I must be losing it!
Firstly, you asked for the url. https://brightpropertymanagement.com
Seondly, I did as you asked and it seems that there are two candidate plugins WP Maintenance Mode and WP Media Manager Lite
I was getting confused by the results at first until it became clear that both were having an effect. That was the exacerbated when I used Chrome for one test instead of my usual Firefox and that caused me to do more tetsing and I share the below with you which has me a bit stumped. I was doing refreshes and I did clear cache, history, cookies and the like.
I tried it with Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Opera and Safari and I’m getting mixed results.
I think I need to do some more testing for a whiel and see if I can figure out what is going on. So, I’m going to close this for now and I’ll open a new topic if I can define what is happening more correctly.
Yesterday it would not show on Firefox at all, yet today i does. So I can’t define the problem fully at present.
Thanks for all the help
Cheers
Here are the results of habing both activated, one on, one off, switch and both deactivated using Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Opera

In reply to: Case/Correspondence/Customer/Contact ManagementIt’s possible. Do you know of any worth looking at?
I am currently looking at WP Easy Contact and WP Easy Ticket and trying to figure out if these will work.
Any more contenders gratefully received.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Moved URLThe bizarre thing is that although it siad it couldn-t connect to the site, it did continue doing backups that “apparently suceeded”!
I decided to try and remove the site from Updraft Central and delete the key from my site. I then generated a new key, and added a new site using the new url. This seems to have wroked and I await the backup tomorrow.
Many Thanks for your help. It has been most helpful and is greatly appreciated.
I will now clsoe this.

In reply to: [UpdraftPlus: WP Backup & Migration Plugin] Moved URLThanks for this. I already had those lines in my wp_config.php as I’d seen them whilst searching for clues. It appears that the search/replace only works for those with the premium version of the product which I don’t have.
I have pretty much gone through every table though and corrected allinstances of the URL. Do you know which table Updraft Plus keeps that info in?
Many Thanks and Kind Regards
OK, thanks for that. I do all the above apart from 2FA. I will look into that as well.
Many Thanks to all who have responded. Most helpful.
Thanks for that. All makes sense
Thanks for that. It isn’t much of a “blog” type site and so not a lot of users that need to login. These were all attempts, as far as I can see, that failed. They were all using admin, test and similar user ids which I don’t allow.
So far, it doesn’t look like any attempt has been successful and I would like to keep it that way.

In reply to: [Participants Database] Alternate Row ShadingThat’s great. Finding out the classes to style is the trickiest thing at present. I’d like ot put borders around the fiels values on the single form – can you let me know the correct class to which to apply the style?
Many Thanks

In reply to: [Participants Database] Password Protect1. OK. Understand about the login and such like.
2. Thanks re: the Payments piece. Once I have this bit figured out then I will have a look at that.
3. Pity. Is that something you could consider? I’d be happy to chat about requirements and if you felt it something that would be useful to add to the plugin or if you felt it could be a bespoke piece of work then maybe we could chat.WRT the last, one of the issues is that if you have junior members then it has to be their parents or guardians who are the Member who has to agree the Ts&Cs and can be chased for payment as a minor cannot by law.
Many Thanks

In reply to: [Participants Database] Password ProtectSorry, one extra thing if I may. Can the plugin (or one of your add on plugins) be used to have such things as Family Memberships? So, for example there is one Membership and it can have many members (for whatever reason – but family is a normal one).
Many Thanks.
