Hi,
re. ‘When you got, Page is not indexed, were you trying to request indexing for the sitemap? If yes, a sitemap isnβt supposed to be indexed and found in search results but the URLs in it are to be indexed’ = Yes! I did it after I found the error. But i know now not to do that again! Hahaha!
So I’ve looked at my google Search Console again now and it doesn’t show it anymore – how strange! So maybe a Google hiccup?!
So please mark this as resolved for now and I’ll reopen if it shows up again plus will post a screenshot FYI.
Thanks so much for your help.
@maybellyne: I’ve started a new thread as requested here: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/google-cant-fetch-yoasts-attachment-sitemap-xml/
@maybellyne: ….and when I get Google to ‘Inspect’ the url it says this: ‘URL is not on Google. This page is not indexed. Pages that aren’t indexed can’t be served on Google. Page is not indexed: URL is unknown to Google. Discovery – Sitemaps. No referring sitemaps detected. Referring page – None detected.
Does this help??
@maybellyne: sorry for the delay – yes it says it ‘can’t be fetched’ and ‘can’t find it’ with a 404 error – BUT I can see it’s url!
Any ideas?
Hi,
Although the sitemaps above can be indexed by Google for my site (trevorpenfold.com) it can’t find/fetch this one by Yoast: /attachment-sitemap.xml even though I can find it via url.
Help please, Yoast??

In reply to: [Robo Gallery - Photo & Image Slider] cloned gallery not keeping settingsUpdate: the only thing I’ve tried that’s affected this issue is when I enable the cache setting in the main cloned gallery (mammals) – but not in a good way. Unfortunately it causes the this (mammals) gallery to lose the same 2 saved settings as the 3 broken galleries! The settings that break are: loss of white border & hover text becomes grey (unreadable) instead of white.
@greg007 and @jkmitsolution – thanks so much. best solution I’ve found!
OK, just backed up everything first and ran the Velvet Blues Updater and all good.
The only ones that haven’t been changed are those urls within Visual Composer ‘Buttons’ and other specialized styling elements. I’ve ran into this problem before when I exported a complex membership site, as VC had renumbered images with it’s own IDs!So the answers for other = Yes, it’s needed!
@ sterndata – thanks for biting!
‘GWIOD’ is Giving WordPress it’s own Directory. All info is in the codex here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory
I’ve already got my dev site installed in a sub-folder and am now changing the site url so it appears to be in the root, so following the guidelines for ‘Using a pre-existing subdirectory install’.
Good that you asked about it as it made me re-read it all again, including all the various linked info, and although it doesn’t actually say you should update urls for this I think it implies it…
So I’m just going to go ahead and give it a go anyway – will confirm the outcome here, so others like me can access this info.
Cheers.
Can anyone guide me on this please?
So far some links work but some don’t (mostly images); so I’m guessing I do have to change the urls to the site url, even though they actually haven’t changed location.
Anyone tried this?

In reply to: [jQuery Masonry Image Gallery] lightbox always opens with first imageHi again,
It looks like it’s a conflict with the theme’s use of magnific pop-up.
As it happens we are now taking a different route for our gallery selection, so will not be continuing to test with this script. However I believe it is possible to disable the magnific script with some additional coding, which should remove the conflict that I have been experiencing.
Many thanks for your great help and support, j
