In reply to: [Membership 2] How Can I Get Membership to Work With Activation LinkAnother option is letting WordPress handle the signup part, or something like Gravity or Formidable Pro.
The default WordPress activation email will then be used.
Then redirect on login to the upgrade/downgrade area for them to purchase a subscription.
You could even use shortcodes to setup individual pages for each sub:
[subscriptiontitle subscription=”2″]
[subscriptiondetails subscription=”2″]
[subscriptionprice subscription=”2″]
[subscriptionbutton subscription=”2″]Replace the number with the ID of the subscription.

Are you assigning a custom role when you add them to a level?
Admin –> Membership –> Access Level
Under the Advanced Tab, you can set a WordPress Role for when they join.
I was just testing adding and removing a subscription to a member but couldn’t recreate the issue you describe.
If you could confirm the configuration of levels and such then we can try to recreate the issue. Perhaps some screenshots? You could put them on tinypic for us to see.
