https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-live-chat-support/advanced/It’s still useable and has not been discontinued. We first need to make sure everyone is satisfied with the quality with the new plugin before the old one gets discontinued.
Any more feedback you have is welcome. We’re currently collecting feedback from all users and addressing issues and planning for feature requests.

Until we can sort out some of these issues, i suggest you download the previous 8.2.0 version from here near the bottom of the page: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-live-chat-support/advanced/
You can install the previous version as it was, we’re not discontinuing it yet. We need to make sure that the new version works well for everyone.
We’re collecting all feedback and bug reports from users and we’re fixing everything. Any more feedback you have is welcome.

We’ve just released 9.0.4 that fixes the issue with special characters. Unfortunately any fields that previously had special characters will need to be reviewed and corrected if needed.
For the moment until we can stabilize the plugin further i suggest you switch back to version 8.2.0 that you can download from the main plugin page > Advanced.

In reply to: [3CX Free Live Chat, Calls & Messaging] Special characters and logoBoth these should have been fixed in the latest 9.0.4 version we released today.
Regarding the special character issue, to fully get this fixed, you’ll need to go to your settings, press the save button and you’ll see that some of the tabs inside the settings page will show some numbers like “Chat Box ‘2’”.
This means that there are 2 textfield errors in this tab that need to be manually fixed. It’s enough to replace that wrong fields with some correct text and then press save.

In reply to: [3CX Free Live Chat, Calls & Messaging] Soooo many bugs in the new versionWe’ve fixed the issues you previously reported in version 9.0.4, but it seems due to the bug in version 9.0.3 and before, any fields that had previously had ‘invalid’ characters like this: éàè will need to be edited 1 more time.
We’re going to fix this in the next version, but if you want to get it working right now:
-Go to Settings
-Press Save
-Saving will fail due to some settings with invalid characters.
-Once saving fails, you’ll notice that some of the Settings tabs will show a number next to them e.g: “Chat Box ‘2’”. This means that there’s 2 fields that need to be manually fixed before you can press save.Once you’ve done this saving will start working even if you put special characters. Once the page reloads, the special characters should still be there and be valid and working.
Please try this and let us know. We’ve tried it out today and it works for us. Version 9.0.4

Near the bottom of the page there should be an option to download a specific version of the plugin. Simply select the 8.2.0 version.thanks cynthiad! yes, it seems you need to remove the plugin in the wordpress admin, then re-add. this will prompt the setup wizard.
all info from previous version of the plugin is gone. history, styling, etc.
is there any way to change the chat image (profile icon of people with headsets)?

Not for the moment. An option to change this is planned for the next major release.
