In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Volunteer opportunities in widgetThanks for reaching out @en18zone. Unfortunately, the plugin doesn’t currently have a widget you can use to display open volunteer opportunities. This is a highly requested feature though and one that is on our short list in the future.
If you work with a web developer, they should be able to help you build a solution. Otherwise, you may have to wait for us to tackle it.
Sorry, since I’m sure that’s not what you wanted to hear.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] opportunities display on pageI’m sorry you’re running into issues @vietmagic. It looks like the problem is caused by your theme styles. After viewing your site I noticed there are some styles causing the volunteer opportunity titles to show up above the volunteer hands image on top of one another. Can you contact the person or company that developed your website’s theme to see if they can help?

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Sender's Email AddressThanks for reaching out @suddenlysomeday. The sender’s name and email address are pulled from the plugin’s settings at Volunteer Mgmt >> Help & Settings >> Email. The two fields you’ll want to look for are called “From Email Address” and “From Email Name”. Try adjusting those and let us know how that works for you.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] User settingsHi @tlongcosprings,
We actually just released an update today that now allows editors to add and edit volunteer opportunities along with admins. Please update the plugin and see how that works for you.
Good luck.

In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] Adding Existing User/Authors As Board MemberHi @oebsolutions,
Unfortunately, with the plugin only admin users can add themselves as board members. If you wanted to add authors to the board you should be able to using the Members plugin and providing all authors the “serve_on_board” capability. Of course, this requires a little more technical know-how and the easiest way to accomplish what you’re talking about is to make the authors admins, but I know that’s not always a fit depending on the permissions you’d like to allow.
I hope that’s helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] User settingsThanks for reaching out tlongcosprings.
Currently, only the Admin role has privileges to create opportunities. We’ve discussed expanding the privileges in a future release so that other roles would have the ability to create and view opportunities. But at the moment, only the Admin role has the ability to create opportunities. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Let us know if you have any other questions and we’ll be happy to help!

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] A couple of thingsThis is actually a bug within the plugin and something we’re working on fixing. Right now if someone is already a user within WordPress and they sign up for a volunteer opportunity they won’t show up in the volunteers list. The rest of the system should work correctly though. I’ll make a note to let you know when we release a fix for this. I’m sorry about the inconvenience.
We’ve fixed this bug with the newest update so now all users, no matter their role in WordPress will be shown in the volunteer list. Let me know if you’re still running into issues. Otherwise, I’ll go ahead and mark this as resolved. Thanks again for reporting it.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] I don't see the sign up buttonI’m sorry to hear you’re still having issues @cskitchens. Within our volunteer management plugin there is no shortcode for a generic volunteer sign up form. Only individual volunteer opportunities show the form and they do it automatically on each individual volunteer opportunity’s page.
It looks like the
[pdb_signup]shortcode is actually used in a different plugin called Participants Database which you can find at https://wordpress.org/plugins/participants-database/. Do you think it would be helpful to reach out to them?Jonathan

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] A couple of thingsThanks for reaching out Caycee. I’ll respond to each one of these individually.
I can’t find anywhere to turn off the social sharing on an opportunity (one-time).
Social sharing is not a default feature of the plugin so this is likely coming from your theme or another plugin. Take a look at the settings for each and see if you might be able to find the solution.
The second question relates to email notification. I am the admin. I signed up for an opportunity, but I don’t appear under the opportunities tab. I received and email, I can see that there is one less spot available to volunteer, but no one appears in the volunteer list.

Please let me know how the social sharing search works out for you.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] I don't see the sign up buttonThanks for reaching out @cskitchens. The shortcode you’ll want to use to display a list of one-time volunteer opportunities is “[one_time_volunteer_opps]”. Using that shortcode on a page will display a list of opportunities, then you can click on each one to see the details and sign up. There isn’t a separate shortcode for the actual signup form. Try that out and let me know how it goes.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] Volunteer Email table is emptySince we haven’t heard back on this ticket in a few weeks I’m going to mark it as resolved. Feel free to reach out again if you have any questions.

Of course. We’re excited to see what others come up with.
Per your suggestion Marc we have officially moved the plugin to Github at https://github.com/wiredimpact/wired-impact-volunteer-management. If you have any changes please feel free to shoot along a pull request.
Thanks again for bringing this up. We’re excited to have others contribute.

Hi Ben,
I wanted to let you know that we fixed the template override system in the plugin and have released the update. It sounds like you went a route that may not require template overrides, but I wanted to thank you again for reporting it. We really appreciate it.
Jonathan
That’s great to hear! Thanks for sharing and hopefully someone else will find this helpful.
