In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] Add Event to OutlookThanks for reaching out @lstat. At the moment there is no way for board members to add events to their Outlook for Gmail calendar outside of doing it manually. Sorry I don’t have better news for you.
Have a good one.

In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] Possible time edit bugHaha, thanks for the update Bill. From now on I’m going to blame gremlins for any issues we have with our plugins.
Good luck with plugin and don’t hesitate to let us know if any other questions come up.

In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] Possible time edit bugThanks for reaching out @wthyde. This is an odd issue and definitely one we haven’t seen before. I just tried to replicate the problem you’re having with no luck.
A couple of questions:
- Would it be possible for you to disable other plugins and switch to the default theme? Then can you create a new event and see if the issue still occurs? This will rule out anything else conflicting with the plugin.
- Have you changed the “Timezone” setting on the General Settings page anytime recently?
- Was there any point in time that this was working for you? If so, has anything changed on the site since that time?
Thanks a ton.

In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] Attendance accuracy – change in boardThanks for reaching out Bill. Unfortunately, there isn’t a way of creating a historical record of past events for people who are no longer on the board. You will have to remove the board members from their role, which will cause the event to show only the number of current board members who did and did not go.
Sorry I don’t have better news for you. Let me know if any other questions come up.
Also, in the future, since you paid for the extension please use the Premium Support form at http://wiredimpact.com/services-and-pricing/wordpress-plugins-for-nonprofits/premium-support/. That way we can ensure we provide you the fastest support possible.

In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] Board Votes?Great question Neil and unfortunately, I don’t have a perfect solution for you. The simplest solution would be using a tool like Survey Monkey to handle voting, but if you’d like to keep it on the website, you could also look at implementing Gravity Forms with their Survey add-on.
I hope that’s helpful. Good luck and let us know if you have any other questions.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] users as volunteersThanks for reaching out @abbottf. Can you give me a little more information on what you mean when you say “Can I link users to the volunteer list?” I’m not exactly sure what you mean.
As far as having visitors enter their information twice when signing up, we intentionally require volunteers to enter their information manually so it updates automatically. For example, if a volunteer’s phone number, first name or last name change with a new sign up, they will update automatically in the system. If the information pre-populates it’s much less likely you’d receive the new contact details.
Let me know about linking users to the volunteer list. Otherwise, have a great day.

In reply to: [Nonprofit Board Management] shortcodesGreat question @security_man. Currently, there are no instructions outside of the videos. I’m sorry it’s not a more efficient process.
At this point there is no way to list the committees on a page of the front-end of the website. This is also the case with the events. The plugin is meant to be used as a backend board management solution, not as an easy way to list information on the front-end of the website.
I’m sorry I don’t have better news for you. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.

In reply to: [Wired Impact Volunteer Management] opportunities display on page@vietmagic, that’s a good question. At the moment there isn’t an easy way to send people to another page after sign up. You could potentially overwrite the sign up form template and add a link to another page, but then you risk running into issues when we update the plugin.
If you’d like to take that approach you’ll need to copy and adapt the
opp-single-form.phpfile in the templates folder of the plugin to a folder called “wivm” within your theme. From there you can change the success message that starts with “Thanks for signing up…” to also include a link.Another, simpler, option would be to add a button or link back to the volunteer opportunities list in your sidebar. That way people can easily get back to the full list at any point.
I’m sorry we don’t have a better solution for you. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Wired ImpactThis is an interesting question @marcusmacbeth. For most organizations, they don’t want people to sign up after an opportunity has started since normally the time to volunteer might be a two-hour window on a specific day. Can you give me some more detail on the opportunities you have which span more than one month? Once I know a little more hopefully I can recommend a different approach.
