In reply to: quicktags.js – no buttons showingI just upgraded to 2.5.1 from 2.03 and have the same problem. The file is in the /wp-includes/js/ directory, but no Quicktag buttons appear on the Write Page. Any solutions to this problem? Looks like no one answered the earlier post on this subject.

In reply to: Restrict page edit to page authorI have the same problem and if it hasn’t been solved since June, I guess I am in trouble. Under 1.5 an author could only edit his own pages. Under 2.0.3 an author can edit or even delete any page. This makes no sense. Why be able to restrict an author to editing his own posts and not pages.

In reply to: How to limit author to a specific category?Redalt is still down. Can anyone supply the Role Manager and Limit Categories Plugins? If you would be so kind as to send to hayeswg04 at ameliaislandfl.org I would be eternally grateful.

In reply to: Author accessI have a different problem with a new author. I am the webmaster for a church web site (www.stpetersparish.org) powered by WordPress. Pages are assigned to individuals to monitor and edit.
Since upgrading to 2.0.3 I have discovered that a new user assigned the Author role cannot open the Manage Pages page and when at the Write page can only write Posts. This in spite of having been assigned “author” of one of the older pages.
This is a major problem for me that must be resolved, even if I have to revert to 1.5.
At the time of this post the role manager plugin link in the previous post is broken, apparently due to a problem at the linked site. Can anyone else help??

In reply to: Login / Password problems ?I had the exact same problem as Andy a few days ago. I could log-in on a different computer, but not the one I usually use (both run Windows 2000). After trying several suggested “solutions” without success, merely rebooting the computer solved the problem. Until then I could not log-in using Firefox or IE. As with many PC problems, rebooting is one of the first things to try.
WordPress powers our entire church web site – I love it!

In reply to: Error with 1.5, IIS, and the “Manage” admin linkDoesn’t look like 1.5 is not ready for prime time. Looks like half the users are having problems, especially with the log-in and redirect functions. Perhaps it works well on Unix, but most of us are relegated to Windows of one flavor or another.

In reply to: Error with 1.5, IIS, and the “Manage” admin linkI still have a log-in problem. I can log in to the admin page, but each time I go to a different section of admin I am taken to the log-in page and must log in again. Surely this is a bug!
Also, when I try to switch themes I get a page that is blank except for the error message “Sorry, you need to enable sending referrers, for this feature to work.” What is that all about?

In reply to: Error with 1.5, IIS, and the “Manage” admin linkAlthough running Apache 2, I was having redirect problems too. The Toby Simmons fixes cured most of the problems. As soon as I replace my just-deceased monitor, I will try the edit of blog-header.php.
For details regarding my problems and set-up see my post elsewhere in the forum.
Any ideas as to why the same problems occurred under Apache?

In reply to: Keep getting redirected to wrong url after admin log-inApparently this thread is a dead-end as no one has replied to my post. Although I am running Apache 2, not IIS, under Windows 2000, I find that the Toby Simmons fixes reported elsewhere in this forum have almost completely solved my problem. Now I need to try the changes to wp-blog-header.php recommended there as well.

In reply to: Keep getting redirected to wrong url after admin log-inI am having this same problem, except that no user is properly redirected. I have tried every suggestion offered at http://codex.wordpress.org/Login_Trouble except that following “Secure HTTPS ?” – all without success.
I have a church web site at http://www.stpetersparish.org on which I use WordPress for certain portions. It has been my plan to eventually use WP 1.5 for the entire site. To that end I have installed MySQL and WP 1.5 on my computer, imported the database from my web site, and changed the siteurl in the options table to http://stpeters/wp/.
Everything seems to be working, with WP using the Kubrick default theme. However, I cannot access the admin section to change to my custom theme. The log-in fails to redirect me to it.
My static non-WP pages are at http://stpeters/ and the WP files are at http://stpeters/wp/. Of course there are subdirectories such as stpeters/wp/wp-admin. I am working under Windows 2000, Apache2, PHP 3.0 and MySQL 4.1.
I can go to my home page at http://stpeters/index.html and from there I can successfully see the various categories using the pull down menu (Letters from the Rector, Vestry Minutes, etc), all in the default Kubrick Theme. But when I am at any of them (such as http://stpeters/wp/index.php?cat=5 Archive for the ‘Letters from our Rector’ Category) the right hand column does not include anything but the search textbox, the archive list, and the category list. This may be a feature of the Kubrick Theme. To see the log-in link I must delete the ?cat=5 in the address textbox and press enter. I then get the default index.php which shows all posts in all categories since Sept 2004. On the right in addition to the search box, archive list and category list are the WordPress link and a list of five items under “Meta” including the log-in link.
If I click on the log-in link I get the log-in page. Whether I log in as “admin” or any user, I do not get taken to the post page in admin. I stay at the login page and the URL in the address bar changes from
http://stpeters/wp/wp-login.php
to
http://stpeters/wp/wp-login.php?redirect_to=%2Fwp%2Fwp-admin%2FIf I then use the back button to return to the index.php page, then refresh, the log-in link has changed to a log-out link. I presume this means that log-in set a cookie. I can undo this by going back to the login page and clicking on LogIn without entering a user name or password. No error is generated.
I am at a loss as to what else to try. Can anyone get me through this?

In reply to: Apostrophe borking comment submissionDid you try escaping the apostrophe (D\’Arcy) or would that fail in this instance?
