Version 7.0.1 update is exactly released to fix this issue, since v7.0.0 used REST API and has conflicts with other plugins.
Do you see any error messages in console? Spinning Gif? May be you could clear your browser cache and try again?

define(‘AUTOMATIC_UPDATER_DISABLED’, true);
inwp-config.phpfile. So by default, you are not need to editwp-config.phpfile.Possibly your hosting one click WP installer or the one who developed site may added that line to your config file. So, if you want to manage updates (as opposed to totally disable it) you need to remove that line.
We understand the risks in doing so, Force update, etc That is why it is always best practice to take a backup of whole site before doing anything risky.

We have released an update v7.0.1 and we switch back to using admin ajax. Could you please update to latest version and check again. It will work well with WordPress SEO or any other plugin that blocks REST API calls.

Thank you for your review and rating.
I can’t reproduce this at my end. The moment I deactivate the plugin, the updates are available (even the updates are turned off in plugin).
Also, even after turned off updates in plugin, I deleted it (via FTP) and updates are still available.
So could you please reinstall plugin and then try again? deactivate, delelet?
Any error messages in console, screenshot, addional info will be helpful to reproduce this issue at my end and fix. Thanks
By “uninstall” you mean deactivating plugin and deleting it from Plugins page right? If you deleted using FTP, that could be problem.
I’ll investigate this issue and get back to you. If you could elaborate the steps you have taken, then it will be great help to reproduce issue at our end. Thanks
