In reply to: [Snapshot Backup] [Plugin: Snapshot Backup] Backupsize 0MBcould you let me know if the file is generated at all?
Hmmmm that is bizarre–
I’ve just tried this myself but the FTP Details Form is still there on my installation.
The only way this can happen is if one of the files has not copied over correctly. Could you give the latest version 1.5.1 a try and let me know if the problem persists? Could you check with an FTP client of the file ftp-form.php is there?

In reply to: [Snapshot Backup] [Plugin: Snapshot Backup] Backupsize 0MBHi JΓΆrg,
thanks for trying it out π
This error appears when the backup isn’t being written for some reason. Could you check if your wp-content/uploads folder is writable and if there’s a file that resembles your snapshot? Should end with .tar.
Which reminds me… I really need to implement folder permission checks in the next version.
Let me know and we’ll get to the bottom of this.

I didn’t even know it existed – the added features make it a no-brainer for me.
Thanks Jetpack π

In reply to: [WordPress.com Stats] [Plugin: WordPress.com Stats] not authorizedI have the same problem–
used to work before but now it isn’t anymore. One API key used to work on several sites – all of them report the same message.

In reply to: Blocked from accessing stats. It’s a WordPress question – my stats worked fine on several blogs with one API key – as of this morning I’m being told I’m being told I’m not authorised to view my stats.
My bet is this has something to do with the way they’re handling API keys.

In reply to: [Snapshot Backup] [Plugin: Snapshot Backup] Errors executing snapshot backupIt was new to me too π
I know that error message and I *think* what’s causing it. I can reproduce it on my Windows machine which is good. On some servers I can’t seem to access the WordPress default constants to access values for database host/hoster/password as defined in the wp-config.php.
I’ll have a fiddle and will release a new version once I’ve figured it out. Watch this space!

and what a shame about those error messages (they’ve been removed by a mod before I could have a look at them). Please post them – just teh first 5 lines will give me an idea of where it’s going wrong.

In reply to: Can p2 make the defualt post to βblog postβοΌ1.)
Everything you post in P2 is a “Blog Post” – the only difference between a “status update” and “blog post” is that the latter has a title, status updates don’t. But they’re still normal posts.2.)
If you’d like to post everything in one certain category, create said category and make it the “default category” (under Settings – Writing).3.)
Since you can’t generate categories from the front page with P2, you wouldn’t have “recent” categories anyway (which is why we have tags and the “recent tags” widget). To display categories in your sidebar, try the categories widget (under Appearance – Widgets)Hope this helps π

In reply to: Bug: post edit box and live update broken [WP 3.0.1, P2 1.1.]Hi guys,
I can confirm I’ve got the same problem in Firefox as described above. I thought it was just me π
This second (spooky!) I’ve seen that P2 is now in version 1.8 – so I’ve upgraded and the problem is gone.
Thanks!!

In reply to: 1and1 Instant Domain, Dreamhost, and Word Press issuesHelp is at hand I’m with 1 and 1 too π
First you need to find out what IP address Dreamhost have given you.
Then login to your 1and1 admin panel. Click on your package, then go to Domains, which should show you the instant domain. Currently it’s pointing at a server at 1and1 to display a holding page.
Tick the domain in question and go to DNS – Edit DNS Settings.
At the bottom under Advanced DNS Settings, check the “Other IP address” box and type in your Dreamhost IP. Click save.
Now your domain should point at your WordPress package with Dreamhost. Note that this can take about 30mins or longer to work properly, sometimes it works instantaneously.
Good luck π
