Hi Joachim, thanks, the update seems to have resolved it! The latest of both CAS and Caldera are running with no issues on the staging sites.
Hi Joachim, no I don’t use WooCommerce on these sites, the conflict for me occurs with Caldera Forms (Version 1.7.6). If you like I can give you access to a staging site if you want to investigate directly. I’ll just need an email address to send credentials to.
Paul, I wanted to ask you, do you have Caldera forms installed?
Hi Joachim, any word yet? 😉
Hi Paul, revert to CAS 3.7 by downloading here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/content-aware-sidebars/advanced/
Then disable automatic updates on plugins until this is fixed. Not a great or even medium-term solution I know, but at least your website will be up and running with your custom sidebars again.
OK I seem to have tracked down the issue. When running the latest version of Caldera Forms (Version 1.7.6) with the latest version of CAS (Version 3.8), your get the following error, leaving the website unable to run:
[your website] is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500I deactivated and reactivated Caldera Forms repeatedly with the same 500 error recurring. There appears to be some kind of conflict between the two plugins that crashes the websites.
Hi fantasticant, I disabled all updates on both websites affected, then downloaded and installed the previous version. If you go here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/content-aware-sidebars/advanced/ and scroll to the bottom of the page, installing version 3.7.7 stopped the 500 error for me on both sites.
I’m afraid I haven’t had time to go through the troubleshooting I mentioned above, I’m on a tight deadline for another client, will revert with my results when I do 🙂
Unfortunately error logs were turned off in wp-config. What I do notice however is that the plugin Black Studio TinyMCE Widget, which is used on both sites, was updated on Friday. The most recent plugin after that was updated on Feb 6.
I have a staging sub-domain for both sites. I’ll clone the live site back over one of them, and turn on debugging so I get an error log. I’ll disable all other plugins, update CAS to the latest version, then progressively enable plugins to see if one is conflicting, then let you know what happens 😉
Hi Joachim, thanks for the response, one server is running PHP 7.0.33 and the other PHP 5.6.40, so both are within requirements. I see the same issue on both sites.
Also thanks to Tomas for his response 😉

In reply to: [Content Aware Sidebars - Fastest Widget Area Plugin] Activation errorHi Joachim, I’m pretty sure this was the host’s MySQL server falling over, and not any issue with the plugin. My host told me that my scripts were taking to long to execute, which since all WordPress sites on that same server fell over, seems unlikely
I installed John Blackbourn’s Query Monitor and no slow queries were consistently found on any page of the problem site. It measures just about every aspect of site functioning and found no issues.
As to the erroneous message, again I don’t think your plugin was the culprit. I updated the theme, Themify’s Ultra, and the message disappeared.
Thanks for the response though, appreciate it.

In reply to: [Caldera Forms - More Than Contact Forms] Forms formatted as tables in emailThanks Josh! Will do that, that’s a pretty easy solution actually!
Thanks Josh, I didn’t see your reply for some reason the system didn’t notify me, appreciate the response.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] can’t turn stats offHi Rob, I’m adding my voice to this too – I didn’t have your other issues but I also want to turn stats off and the option has been removed (or is somewhere we’re missing)
Hi Lisa, thanks but I solved the issue. I was logged into the wrong WordPress.com account in Chrome. I also switched to the Gmail account associated with it in Chrome. At that point, Publicize connected.
Thanks for your prompt response though, I appreciate it.
