The Template Hierarchy article goes into great detail as to what it is and how it works. It does not explain how to find it or where I should start looking. This is the first time I have tried to make any modifications to my WordPress so I am at a loss and will probably need to spend considerable amount of time reading and learning. If you are able to walk me through it I would be able to do this. You are welcome to look at this yourself, it is not confidential material. http://www.lewportalumni.com/website/

Michael can you be more specific? I am a newbie and need more information.

    Thanks

OK, I thought I had it but evidentally not. Where is the Single.php and the page.php located? How do I get to them? So I go to single.php, find the “code” comments_template call? copy and paste it? How about if you copy and paste it here so I will know what to look for.

Does it matter what line I paste in on within the page.php? Before or after????????????????

Sorry, I am very new and you can consider me a greenie. But I have learning potential. LOL

    Thanks!

Suppose I have a main page with individual posts as follows:

    Class of 1983
    Class of 1972
    Class of 2004
    Class of 2001
    etc., etc., in random order.

There are 4 pages ranging from 1953 thru 2009.
Would alphabetizing do the what I want?

I found it. I was going thru cPanel when I should have been using the admin page. I was able to resolve the problem. Thanks!

OK! It worked. I have three of the posts that still do not have comment boxes. They were once catagorized but I changed them to uncatagorized. Now none of them are catagorized.

What does that mean anyways? To be catagorized?

grab the code from the theme’s single.php and add it to the theme’s page.php

I am unable to find either of those. Can you tell me where they are located? I am using WEb2_11 theme.

    Thank you.

I too have the same problem and being a newbie I need detailed instructions on how to do this. I have managed to make changes to other files with peoples help so I am not entirely hopeless. I khnow cPanel a bit and can find *.php files, open them, copy and paste etc. I would appreciate a little help. I am on MSN if that helps. uncdon1114@live.com

I know how to get into cPanel and fumble my way around. But I would have not idea where “single php” is located. Please be more specific. I am very much a newbie. Competent but need patience and guidance. Thanks!
