In reply to: WP-Polls Troublei have a php plugin to enable php code to be used in the pages.
turned on or off, wordpress seems to be saving one line of my code with a space included, where it shouldn’t be whenever i save.

In reply to: a simple problemdoes anyone have any suggestions? im going mad trying to get this to work.
it should be a simple task.
the instructions say to add a line at the top of the sidebar file which i do, and then another line where i want the banner to display.
but the code is displayed at the top of my sidebar and a little further down. not the actual banner.

In reply to: wordpress control panel gone crazySorry if I sound frustrated. I really appreciate your help. It’s very kind of you. But I have followed everything you have told me to do. I can’t see what I’m not doing which you have told me to do.
We’re talking about one site. http://www.rapnews.co.uk and one problem, in the wordpress admin area (invisible to visitors) on the ‘themes’ pages.
I have been trying your suggestions with the .css of this, and this only. It solves the wordpress issue but has negative effects on the main page which visitors see. these effects are huger problems than the original, and visible, and would take far more work to resolve than reversing the actions and dealing with the original problem again.
please don’t be afraid to talk to me in the most basic, primitive, sarcastic language you can manage. i wont be offended!

In reply to: wordpress control panel gone crazysorry i meant save as .css
i would rather the problem with my site be behind the scenes rather than on view for the world to see in an unprofessional manner.
whilst the theme editor of the site isn’t working, the visitors are none the wiser.
when i follow your instructions and correct the theme editor problem, the problems caused on the actual main page of the site are pretty major. everything is out of position, size, style and colour. i dont have the knowledge to correct this myself.

In reply to: wordpress control panel gone crazyI am copying the entire css with no line breaks.
im pasting it into that regenerator on the link provided.
im copying and pasting this newly formatted text.
i’m adding the ‘theme name…etc’ to the top.
im saving it and uploading it.
then my actual site’s appearance becomes distorted.
but the wordpress admin area is fixed.but obviously the problem is, i need the wordpress area fixed without making a new problem.
im using notepad and im saving as .php

In reply to: wordpress control panel gone crazylike i said, i followed the instructions but it actually messed up the pages of my site, rather than the behind the scenes wordpress pages which the visitors don’t see.
i dont understand what you mean by:
Then just copy header part back in – try pasting this:
/*
Theme Name: rapnews
Theme URI: http://rapnews.co.uk/
Description: a theme
Version: 1.0
Author: Tony
*/i pasted this in to the top of the regenerated css to no affect.
