In reply to: 500 Internal Server Error500 errors are generic in nature. I would suggest looking at your servers error logs to see if you can pin point the actual error.
Since it’s intermittent it sounds to be more of a server side issue.

In reply to: Transferring siteWe’re here to help. I’m just trying to figure out how we can help you. You can install WordPress on your current domain at hostgator. You could put it in a sub folder so you could test it out, on a live site.
WordPress.com sites are a bit different than slef hosted ones where you installed WordPress. Let us know if we can help you or if you have any more questions!

In reply to: install wordpressHi know nothing,
Esmi is trying to be polite. It’s really not appropriate for you to interrupt a thread. The simple solution is to create your own thread and the WP community will be more than happy to help you. Acting like that surely will not win you favor with the community or the moderators.

In reply to: Copy WPParked domains have the same document root as the primary domain. You’ll need to contact your hosting provider for more information on how they set them up. If you’re host uses cPanel, typically it’s a link in there to set them up. Basically, the domain name will be different but the website will look exactly the same. That way, two domains will display the same exact website, the only difference is the domain name.

In reply to: Copy WPYou could always set up a parked domain in that case.

In reply to: Installed WordPress but Homepage still doesnt workSo you want to migrate your WordPress.com site to your WordPress self hosted website? Ok, now its a little more clear. Is the domain name pointed to your hosting account? If you purchased the domain name separately from hosting, you’ll need to change the nameservers for the domain so traffic for that domain will be directed to your hosting account.
Also, keep in mind that it can take up to 24 hours after you make the change to fully take effect.

In reply to: Copy WPListen to Ipstenu. Duplicate content will hurt your search rankings. I would suggest, if you want to have two website, changing the content up a bit. Have a different look and feel as well. That way, if you have a visitor who visits both sites, they get different experiences.
If you are using fantastico, it may think you have a previous installation in the root of your add-on. Look for a file called “installed_in_root” in the fantastico directory. Open it up using code edit in file manager, and remove the entry for the add-on domain. This will correct the issue.

In reply to: cPanelDo you have fantastico in your cPanel installation? If so, they can install WordPress pretty quickly. There’s other products available as well such as installatron or softalicious.

In reply to: My new blog as a websiteWordPress is blogging software that is often used as a content management system fro websites. I’m not sure your question as you can use it from the initial installation as a blog.

In reply to: Reinstallation using fantasticaIt sounds like you either don’t have the privileges to remove the files. Make sure you have the correct file permissions set so you can delete the files. There should be no reason if the file permissions are set correctly that would limit you.
